Flight and Flying [Friday morning]

When the flight workshop arrived at the shed, they found it locked up tight and Anakin leaning up against it.

Wearing a beanie.

And a sullen expression, but that was kind of a given.

"For our last class," he said, "we're going to fly helicopters. The pilot's waiting for us over at Selkie Cove. Come grab a hat--and no, they're not optional--and then we'll head over together."

He even had one Faithful-sized. Anakin was thorough.

"'m sorry for the skateboarding through your cool temple and stuff," he muttered quickly, scuffing at the ground with his toe. "Hope ya didn't get in too much toruble 'cause of me . . ."

Anakin gave Jude a wry smile. "If it hadn't been you, Master Windu would've found something else."

Jude looked relieved. "Good! I mean, not good, but y'know . . . um, thanks."

"You leaving?" Alanna asked bluntly.

Anakin nodded. "Tuesday afternoon," he said quietly.

"Well, I wasn't sure so." Alanna dug through her bag and handed him a book that looked like it had been made in the 14th century. "It's um, about martial arts. A type of them."

Anakin's mouth dropped open. "I couldn't possibly accept this," he said.

Alanna blinked. And blinked a second time.

"Hey, dude," Bridge says after bouncing out of the helicopter cockpit, still wearing the beanie.

Anakin gave Bridge a small smile. "Hello."

"Um, just wanted to say thanks for running this workshop," Bridge grins. "It was really cool."

Anakin's smile got a little larger. "I'm glad," he said. "Did you enjoy Coruscant?"

"Yes!" Bridge beams. "Even if someone tried to sell me deathsticks," he adds with a grumble.

Anakin tried to smile. It was a bit of a sad attempt.

"I'll be sorry to leave. Fandom kind of grows on you."

"That it does," Dean agreed with a wry smile. "Never thought there'd be anywhere I'd want to settle for longer than a week."

Molly walked up and hugged Anakin without saying anything at first.

"Do you have to go?" Molly asked, not letting go yet.

Anakin was fine with being hugged. Possibly for months.

Since it would make it harder to leave.

"Yes," he said softly. "I haven't completed my training."
