Flight and Flying [Friday morning]

When the flight workshop arrived at the shed, they found it locked up tight and Anakin leaning up against it.

Wearing a beanie.

And a sullen expression, but that was kind of a given.

"For our last class," he said, "we're going to fly helicopters. The pilot's waiting for us over at Selkie Cove. Come grab a hat--and no, they're not optional--and then we'll head over together."

He even had one Faithful-sized. Anakin was thorough.

"Yes, Jude?" Anakin asked.

"'m sorry for the skateboarding through your cool temple and stuff," he muttered quickly, scuffing at the ground with his toe. "Hope ya didn't get in too much toruble 'cause of me . . ."

Anakin gave Jude a wry smile. "If it hadn't been you, Master Windu would've found something else."

Jude looked relieved. "Good! I mean, not good, but y'know . . . um, thanks."

"Peter stuck himself to the ceiling, too," Anakin said. "So Master Windu was just looking for an excuse to yell." He pressed his lips together. "He'll be glad to have me back, I imagine."

Jude winced. "Harsh, bro."

Anakin waved it off. "Master Windu just has a very low threshhold for stupidity," he said.

Jude chuckled. "Yeah, guess it was kinda stupid of me . . . but those halls are like perfect for boarding." He scratched the back of his head. "But, uh, I meant thanks for everything. Teaching me to fly and stuff."

Anakin's eyes sparkled. "I might have to tell the younglings that," he said.

That statement went a long way towards explaining why Master Windu yelled so much.

"And it was a pleasure," he continued. "Honestly. You've got a good feel for it."

Jude chuckled again. "As long as I'm not around to get yelled at." He ducked his head. "Thanks. I really like it. Even if it's 'totally useless and a waste of school resources' according to my parents, but they're harsh like that."

"Tell them your teacher from another planet totally disagrees," Anakin suggested with a smile.

"Oh yeah, 'cause that'll go over really well," Jude grinned.

Anakin grinned back. "Worth a shot, right? And this is way more interesting than classes on government or languages."

"Totally, bro. Waaaay cooler than anything I could be taking back at Michael Power."

"Michael Power?" Anakin repeated, looking confused.
