Rory opened the library, and positioned herself behind the desk with the fan and a book.

[Apologies on the late posting. Am battling the flu - if responses are slow, it's because I fell asleep.]

After class, John, feeling a little risky, sneaks into the library. He's carrying a rather large bag. He heads straight back to a section that's hidden from the front desk.

Once hidden, he starts digging things out of his bag. Some books, a small pillow, cereal boxes etc. And he starts building a fort.

Rory watched John disappear into the back, and, not thinking anything of it, just kept reading.

Silly girl.

He grabs a few chairs from around the library, always trying to play it cool if he came in sight of the desk before dragging the chairs back like they were precious gold and he was a miner.

Those go up as sort of a fortifying wall. And he's even got a flag. That goes in one of the cereal boxes which, unfortunately, is full and spreads Cheerios on the floor.

Oops.

Yeah, she heard that, but it was too hot to move.

"Everything okay?" she called.

Oh no! John seizes and checks to make sure Rory isn't actually coming back. When he's satisfied she isn't, he makes up an excuse.

"Fine, fine. I'm reading..." He picks up the first book he can and reads the title, "...The Fountain!"

"...okay," Rory replied. "You know you're allowed to check it out, right?"

He's taken the time since he answered and her subsequent reply to stack books around his cereal boxes and pillows.

Also, there's a pair of his boxers at the forefront of the fort. THEY ARE CLEAN. They're just there for color.

"Sure sure," he replies distractedly. "In a minute. I'm looking for something else."

Yeah, like the two dictionaries he just came upon. Hello columns of power!

"Can I help you find anything?" she asked.

"NO!" John shouts. And then remembering this is a library, he shushes himself.

"No, I'm fine. Done in a minute." Yeah, right. Once he has the fort built high enough off the ground, John reaches into his bag and pulls out a quilt from his room.

He drapes it over the top of the fort and now he's got a ceiling!

Willow stopped by the library when she had a moment. Seeing Rory at the desk, she looked at her nervously.

Rory glanced up, and upon spotting Willow, suddenly looked very nervous herself. "Hi. Are you feeling better?"

"Mostly," Willow said. She came over to the counter. "I was able to go to my class yesterday and thus avoid a black mark on my attendance record. Plus the nurse says I'm allowed to be around people without worrying I might kill them accidentally."

"Good. I'd rather not die accidentally," Rory said, nodding. "Um. At least you missed the craziness on Saturday."

"Yeah. I heard about that." Willow said. She decided not to say anything else just to see what Rory might say.

Rory poked at a pencil on the desk.

"Um. Did Peter talk to you?"

"Last night," Willow said.

"It didn't mean anything," she blurted out, still looking down. "We were both under a spell. He is so very, very much yours and I have no intention of ever, ever kissing anyone else's boyfriend ever again. Ever. Even under a spell. I have no idea how I'm going to manage that, but I'll find a way."

Angela knew Rory would be in the library, or should be.

Well, she looked normal. "Hi. You're over ... whoever you were Sunday, right?"

Rory felt like hiding under her desk. "I'm not Frenchy anymore, no. And so I'm not blonde or smoking, but Jaye decided to get pictures. Wasn't that nice of her?"

"Very," Angela said. "I mean, that's terrible and really really embarassing and do you think she'd give me copies if I asked?"

Yes, she was perhaps a bit too amused.

"I think she called my mom, too," Rory said, facepalming. "And I kissed Peter Pevensie, too. Fun, fun weekend."

"At least Peter's cute," Angela decided. "But yeah, not the point. It must have sucked when you snapped out of it."

"Though it was kind of amusing that we ended up arguing about whether Marty was a girl or a boy."

"Liz was Marty," Rory supplied. "That was what she thought her name was. And the bigger issue about Peter was Willow, who I just talked to and she's fine so yay. But at least it was only one little kiss. Poor Anakin and Parker were all over each other."

Angela groaned. "I bet they're both investing in lifetime supplies of Listerine," she said. "Possibly to, like, bathe in. I saw Parker at the campfire and she did not look like herself."

"But I'm glad Willow's okay with the whole thing."

"Because it was a spell. I'm never eating anything Sam makes ever, ever again. You are so lucky." Rory finally looked up. "What's new with you, anyway?"
