Archery Workshop #1, 5/23, Danger Shop, Afternoon

As the students entered the Danger Shop, set up like a standard classroom for today, they were greeted by a diminutive, black-and-white Japanese girl in a silk robe, perched on a corner of the teacher's desk munching on a chocolate chip cookie. Next to her were a stack of handouts, a sign-in sheet, and a tray of assorted cookies from Jeff, God of Biscuits.

Written on the board behind the desk was, Sign in. Take a handout and a cookie. Direct any questions to the instructor. Behave. Or else.

Miho studied her students with a critical eye, trying to determine which of them were most likely to shoot one of their classmates by accident or try to take more than one cookie.

Molly sat quietly, easting her cookie and reading her handout. Every now and then, she snuck glances at Miho.

Still bored, Dean looked around and saw another familiar face. "It's Molly right?"

Molly nodded and grinned at him. "Yup. And you're Dean, not Alec."

"Is this your first workshop?" Molly asked.

"Yep. Have another one tomorrow and then two on Thursday. Gotta say, I was kinda hoping this one would be a bit more... active." He looked at her. "What about you? This your first?"

"It is," Molly said. "I have the stargazing one tomorrow, Wilderness Survival on Thursday and the fun things to do at the beach on Friday."

She glanced at Miho again. "Do you think she'd demonstrate if we asked her?"

"Maybe. As long as she doesn't demonstrate on us."

Molly shrugged. "I doubt she'd really hurt us unless we did something to piss her off."

"That's comforting." Dean paused. "Mostly."

Molly smiled brightly. "Yup. I'm still alive and without any arrow holes in me."

Realizing that Parker probably wasn't the most healthy person to sit by, Sam switched seats and found himself by Molly. Unfortunately, that gave him a clear shot of Dawn and Dean talking, and he had to wonder if maybe getting taunted by Parker was better.

Molly saw Sam looking toward Dawn and Dean. He didn't look to happy either.

"Hey, Sam," Molly said, hoping to distract him.

Sam at least had the decency to look away from his brother when Molly spoke to him. "Hey," he said, smiling lightly. "How's it going?"

"Except for the singing and the ducks this morning, it's good," Molly said with a wry grin. "This is my first workshop though, so ask me again at the end of the week. How about you?"

"I'm all right." Sam gave a little shrug. "It's my first workshop too, so I guess we'll see how I feel when I've gotten through all of them."

"What other workshops do you have?" she asked.

"Computers, Nature Magic, and Wilderness Survival. Yeah, I know I'm a geek," he said pre-emptively, laughing.

Molly shrugged. "Those don't sound so geeky. I'm taking the Wilderness Survival workshop too."

"Oh, cool. So I'll get to see you twice a week," Sam said brightly, because Molly seemed like the kind of girl who wouldn't hurt him for attempting to flirt. "That works out well."

Molly blushed a little even as she grinned at him.

"So, which cabin did you end up in? I know you're on our side of the camp, but that's it."

"I'm in Seahorse, which I'm afraid is really never going to stop sounding silly," Sam replied. "Our cabin is basically a bunch of guys and Jaye Tyler. I think she's enjoying herself immensely."

Molly snickered. "I'm not surprised that she is. Has she tried to talk you all into a boykissy event yet?"
