Archery Workshop #1, 5/23, Danger Shop, Afternoon

As the students entered the Danger Shop, set up like a standard classroom for today, they were greeted by a diminutive, black-and-white Japanese girl in a silk robe, perched on a corner of the teacher's desk munching on a chocolate chip cookie. Next to her were a stack of handouts, a sign-in sheet, and a tray of assorted cookies from Jeff, God of Biscuits.

Written on the board behind the desk was, Sign in. Take a handout and a cookie. Direct any questions to the instructor. Behave. Or else.

Miho studied her students with a critical eye, trying to determine which of them were most likely to shoot one of their classmates by accident or try to take more than one cookie.

"Is this your first workshop?" Molly asked.

"Yep. Have another one tomorrow and then two on Thursday. Gotta say, I was kinda hoping this one would be a bit more... active." He looked at her. "What about you? This your first?"

"It is," Molly said. "I have the stargazing one tomorrow, Wilderness Survival on Thursday and the fun things to do at the beach on Friday."

She glanced at Miho again. "Do you think she'd demonstrate if we asked her?"

"Maybe. As long as she doesn't demonstrate on us."

Molly shrugged. "I doubt she'd really hurt us unless we did something to piss her off."

"That's comforting." Dean paused. "Mostly."

Molly smiled brightly. "Yup. I'm still alive and without any arrow holes in me."

"This is a good thing." Dean grinned. "I'd've felt terribly guilty if you'd gotten pin-cushioned."

Molly made a dismissive gesture and then leaned closer to whisper so that Miho wouldn't overhear and take it as a challenge. "I'm kind of invulnerable. I don't think she could have hurt me anyway."

Molly gave a slightly embarrassed shrug because she hadn't been meaning to brag. "I'm a mutant, it goes with my super strength."

"Remind me not to arm wrestle with you," Dean deadpanned. "You're the first mutant I've met. Well, that I know of."

"There are only two of us here that I've heard of, right now. There's another guy, but he's off in Australia for the summer," Molly said.

"I think I've stopped being shocked at the student makeup of Fandom by now." He glanced over to where Bel was sitting. "Well, mostly."
