Archery Workshop #1, 5/23, Danger Shop, Afternoon

As the students entered the Danger Shop, set up like a standard classroom for today, they were greeted by a diminutive, black-and-white Japanese girl in a silk robe, perched on a corner of the teacher's desk munching on a chocolate chip cookie. Next to her were a stack of handouts, a sign-in sheet, and a tray of assorted cookies from Jeff, God of Biscuits.

Written on the board behind the desk was, Sign in. Take a handout and a cookie. Direct any questions to the instructor. Behave. Or else.

Miho studied her students with a critical eye, trying to determine which of them were most likely to shoot one of their classmates by accident or try to take more than one cookie.

"Except for the singing and the ducks this morning, it's good," Molly said with a wry grin. "This is my first workshop though, so ask me again at the end of the week. How about you?"

"I'm all right." Sam gave a little shrug. "It's my first workshop too, so I guess we'll see how I feel when I've gotten through all of them."

"What other workshops do you have?" she asked.

"Computers, Nature Magic, and Wilderness Survival. Yeah, I know I'm a geek," he said pre-emptively, laughing.

Molly shrugged. "Those don't sound so geeky. I'm taking the Wilderness Survival workshop too."

"Oh, cool. So I'll get to see you twice a week," Sam said brightly, because Molly seemed like the kind of girl who wouldn't hurt him for attempting to flirt. "That works out well."

Molly blushed a little even as she grinned at him.

"So, which cabin did you end up in? I know you're on our side of the camp, but that's it."

"I'm in Seahorse, which I'm afraid is really never going to stop sounding silly," Sam replied. "Our cabin is basically a bunch of guys and Jaye Tyler. I think she's enjoying herself immensely."

Molly snickered. "I'm not surprised that she is. Has she tried to talk you all into a boykissy event yet?"

Sam thought for a few moments and shook his head. "I don't think so. What's a boykissy event?"

Molly raised an eyebrow at him. "You take some boys. You encourage them to kiss each other. People watch. Boykissy event," she said with a teasing grin. "Jaye really likes boykissy."

Sam's eyes widened about as far as possible at Molly's description. "That's...is there really nothing more interesting to do around here than that? Or do you have girlkissy events to balance things out?"

Molly giggled at his reaction. "There was only ever one actual event - with both boys and girls - and it was something the newspaper did. Otherwise the boykissy usually happens when people play Spin the Bottle. Which isn't so much an event," she assured him.

"Oh, there's also the boykissy room up on the sixth floor, but that was mostly boring."

"I'm almost afraid to ask what's in the boykissy room," Sam said, looking genuinely nervous. "And thank you for the warning about Spin the Bottle. Um, I mean, not that there's anything wrong with boys kissing. I'm sure it's exciting. But I just...you know, think girls are better for that sort of thing. From what little I know."

"Don't worry," Molly said with a grin. "I feel the same except replace girls with boys."

Then she gave him a calculating look. "Do you not want to know about the room then?" she asked.

"No, go ahead and tell me about the room," Sam said, managing to look a little calm about it. "A little knowledge might be good here."

Molly grinned. "Up on the sixth floor there are some really weird rooms. One of them, 614, was actually the most normal one we've seen. Except that it locked us in and the only way we could get the door open was for Bridge and Xander to kiss. A lot. So, we call it the boykissy room."

Sam made a big note in his head about the weird rooms on the sixth floor, because ooh, those sounded like fun. "So, even the buildings here like boykissy? That's definitely a vote in your favor. I think I'm pretty much outnumbered."

Molly laughed, then quickly covered her mouth with her hand and glanced at Miho.

Sam followed suit with the glancing, because really, they were having a nice conversation, and bloodshed would sort of ruin the moment.

She looked back to Sam. "She can't really hurt me, but I don't want to make her mad on the first day of class."

"No, that probably wouldn't be very smart." Sam gave Molly a curious glance. "Do you mean she's got some sort of agreement that she won't hurt anyone in the class, or did you mean that she can't hurt you specifically?"

"She probably does have an agreement, but I meant me specifically," Molly said and leaned closer like she had when she told Dean. Who knows how well ninja hearing was. "I'm a mutant and one of my powers is that I'm kind of invulnerable."

That wasn't remotely close to the response Sam had been expecting, and he was sure that the look on his face made that fact clear. But that didn't mean that Molly's explanation wasn't cool. "You're kind of...wow," he said quietly, leaning in as well. "So people have powers where you're from?"

"Not everybody," Molly said. "Just the small percentage of the population that have the X-gene."
