Archery Workshop #1, 5/23, Danger Shop, Afternoon

As the students entered the Danger Shop, set up like a standard classroom for today, they were greeted by a diminutive, black-and-white Japanese girl in a silk robe, perched on a corner of the teacher's desk munching on a chocolate chip cookie. Next to her were a stack of handouts, a sign-in sheet, and a tray of assorted cookies from Jeff, God of Biscuits.

Written on the board behind the desk was, Sign in. Take a handout and a cookie. Direct any questions to the instructor. Behave. Or else.

Miho studied her students with a critical eye, trying to determine which of them were most likely to shoot one of their classmates by accident or try to take more than one cookie.

That wasn't remotely close to the response Sam had been expecting, and he was sure that the look on his face made that fact clear. But that didn't mean that Molly's explanation wasn't cool. "You're kind of...wow," he said quietly, leaning in as well. "So people have powers where you're from?"

"Not everybody," Molly said. "Just the small percentage of the population that have the X-gene."

"Which makes your powers even more special." Sam laughed to himself. "I feel like I'm saying 'wow' a lot, and I apologize for that. It just must be really nice to not have to worry about getting hurt, especially around here."

"It has come in handy a few times," Molly said and smiled. "And it's okay about the 'wow' thing. I'm used to it. Not many people here had ever heard of mutants. Plus, it's not like you can tell just by looking at me."

She gave him a slightly mischievous grin. "Do you want to know what my main power is?"

Sam took a deep breath at that grin, and nodded. "Of course I want to know. It's not being nearly invulnerable?"

"Nah, being near invulnerable is just the added bonus," Molly said "My real power is that I'm super strong." She was totally bragging now.

Yes, she was bragging, and Sam was being impressed in return, as he thought about all the things he, Dean and his dad had fought, where some extra strength would have come in handy.

"I imagine that's got to be kind of a stealthy power. I mean, who would expect a lot of strength coming from someone who looks really innocent and sweet, right?" he said, grinning.
