Was anyone looking slightly worried about the pantry ingredients and refrigerated chests Anakin had hauled out the park? Good. You should be worried. There were also three cooking stations set up, and three stacks of terrible, eye-searing shirts in front of Anakin.

Someone stop him from watching food competitions shows into the early hours, gang. "Today will be a cook off!" he announced far-too-loudly through the megaphone. "As always you will work in teams. Your teams will be divided into pairs and as that pair you will work on an appetizer, then tag in the next pair to complete a main dish, and finally your third team pair will make a dessert!"

That seemed too easy.

"You will be bound together like a three-legged race."

There we go.

"And while the food supplies are overwhelming in the choices available to you, the only equipment you have will be what you would find in a typical college freshman's dorm, or in the home of a recently divorced man. Listen for your names! Don't use your powers!"

Eat snacks that your fellow island residents are not making for you! Avoid eye contact with Anakin!

These really are some shirts Anakin has found today.

The full stocked food pantry (of ingredients, not anything like pizza pockets or canned stew) is located across the lawn from where the three cooking stations are set up, so each pair will have to three-legged race back and forth to get ingredients. On your stations are the following:

1 microwave
1 hot plate
1 Easy-Bake oven
1 rice cooker from 2002 with rice still burned to the bottom
1 George Foreman grill from Anakin's wedding registry
1 Swiss Army knife
1 paring knife, not sharp at all
1 small frying pan for a single-sized egg or steak
1 medium sized pot
1 small cutting board
1 fork, spoon, butter knife, plate, cereal bowl, and coffee mug
1 8-cup measuring cup with only 1-cup markings on it. Half have disappeared.
1 wooden spoon, and 1 hugely oversized metal spoon bent in a weird angle

And that's all you have.

You have 30 handwavy minutes to make something you can call an appetizer! It must contain Cool Ranch Doritos. Other than that, let your imagination run wild!

30 handwavy minutes to make something you can pretend is a main course! It must contain a protein AND one can of green beans. Other than that, go nuts.

Only twenty minutes to make a dessert and there's no ice cream machine, so don't even think about getting fancy and Chopped about it. You also must incorporate tempeh in your dish!

Did Anakin know what tempeh was? Not even a little!

Other people are gonna eat them so try not to give anyone food poisoning, okay? You must present them only using the pots, bowl, and cutting board you had.

Anakin is very proud of this challenge.

"Meep meep meep meep meeeeeeeeeeep," Beaker said, looking with admiration at his hot dog shirt.

As Raiden whipped off his old shirt to change into his team shirt, he wondered aloud, "Can I get the other ones in my size, too?"

Ben was there with the kids again. This was the best sort of free entertainment, especially if he didn't get picked.

Okay, not having to participate and mock others was much better than being in the thick of it.

Dean settled back to enjoy the chaos.

"Okay, so, can you cook?" Raiden asked Stewart, because he was at least going to try to get some teamwork going here even though he knew he could have bodied this challenge with one hand tied behind his back.

Lydia was very delicately holding her new shirt at arm's length, pinched between two fingers, asking of the universe, "Do I have to put this on?"

This shirt isn't even that bad, Lydia. It's just some shrimp.

"I wouldn't incur the wrath of the Dean of Students," Kamala suggested in a sotto tone, as she put her shirt on over her regular outfit. "Just put it on over your outfit like me. At least our clothes won't get totally stained."

"Canned green beans?" Kamala said, making a face at the can. "Gross."

Lydia was just going to hope that Arden knew what she was doing, as she certainly did not, and begin by attempting to clean out the rice cooker. She didn't actually know what the rice cooker was for, but she was reasonably certain it wasn't supposed to already have food in it.

Jane stopped in to see what fresh insanity was happening here and was very very glad that her name hadn't been called.

But she was putting her money on Raiden carrying his team to victory.

"I certainly wouldn't take off my dress to put it on," Lydia agreed, even if some of the gentlemen removing their shirts was...not objectionable. "But look at it!" She shook the shirt delicately at Kamala. It continued to just be some shrimp.

"How bad do you think the results are going to be?"

No, she didn't know about the cicada Malort at the bar to compare it against.

Look, the men taking off shirts weren't bad at all. Sometimes shrimp is the price you pay!

"Maybe you should make an extra mess on it so you can show everyone how much you don't like it?" Kamala suggested. "And then it will cover up the shrimp."

"I would say somewhere between barely edible and 'somebody get a stomach pump'," Dean replied, giving Jane a smile. "Though they do have a George Foreman grill. That's a very versatile tool."

"You know, if nothing else these things are great for expanding my wardrobe," Don mused as he buttoned up his shirt. He was really more a t-shirts guy, but hey, a free shirt was a free shirt.

I was a cabbage lighthouse, Thor complained, and Don just laughed.

"For dessert?" The real rest, that.

Since cinnamon roll Sundays had been going well and Boc was feeling generally more comfortable here, he figured he could start venturing out a little more again.

He realized his mistake as soon as he noticed all the hubbub going on in the park and remembered too late how it could be in the park sometimes.

And, of course, before he could go scampering off to the shop for safety, his name was being called and someone was janding him a terrible shirt.

"Oh," he whimpered, "bother..."
