Was anyone looking slightly worried about the pantry ingredients and refrigerated chests Anakin had hauled out the park? Good. You should be worried. There were also three cooking stations set up, and three stacks of terrible, eye-searing shirts in front of Anakin.

Someone stop him from watching food competitions shows into the early hours, gang. "Today will be a cook off!" he announced far-too-loudly through the megaphone. "As always you will work in teams. Your teams will be divided into pairs and as that pair you will work on an appetizer, then tag in the next pair to complete a main dish, and finally your third team pair will make a dessert!"

That seemed too easy.

"You will be bound together like a three-legged race."

There we go.

"And while the food supplies are overwhelming in the choices available to you, the only equipment you have will be what you would find in a typical college freshman's dorm, or in the home of a recently divorced man. Listen for your names! Don't use your powers!"

The full stocked food pantry (of ingredients, not anything like pizza pockets or canned stew) is located across the lawn from where the three cooking stations are set up, so each pair will have to three-legged race back and forth to get ingredients. On your stations are the following:

1 microwave
1 hot plate
1 Easy-Bake oven
1 rice cooker from 2002 with rice still burned to the bottom
1 George Foreman grill from Anakin's wedding registry
1 Swiss Army knife
1 paring knife, not sharp at all
1 small frying pan for a single-sized egg or steak
1 medium sized pot
1 small cutting board
1 fork, spoon, butter knife, plate, cereal bowl, and coffee mug
1 8-cup measuring cup with only 1-cup markings on it. Half have disappeared.
1 wooden spoon, and 1 hugely oversized metal spoon bent in a weird angle

And that's all you have.

Appetizers!

You have 30 handwavy minutes to make something you can call an appetizer! It must contain Cool Ranch Doritos. Other than that, let your imagination run wild!

Lydia was just going to hope that Arden knew what she was doing, as she certainly did not, and begin by attempting to clean out the rice cooker. She didn't actually know what the rice cooker was for, but she was reasonably certain it wasn't supposed to already have food in it.

"Okay, that's meant to cook rice, which we probably won't need for an appetizer?" Arden said, trying to think quickly. While staring at the equipment at their station in horror. "Wanna run over to the pantry and see what we've got to work with?"

Lydia put down the rice cooker, thankful Arden knew what to do, and said, "Yes, we should probably start with that."

Why couldn't they be on the team that had Raiden batting cleanup?

"Any thoughts, Boc?" Stark asked. "Cinnamon rolls won't work, I'm afraid. And I don't know how to make them anyway. Maybe I should try sometime..."

It would at least be easy to make in under 30 minutes, even if it wouldn't be elevating any ingredients.

30 handwavy minutes to make something you can pretend is a main course! It must contain a protein AND one can of green beans. Other than that, go nuts.

Watts gave the... felty fellow... a look. "Normally I would suggest some sort of casserole," he said. "But the only dish large enough is the pot, and I don't think that will fit in the... oven?" if you could call the Easy Bake Oven that.

Anakin had said no powers, though Liliana's were only useful for punishing the man for his audacity anyway (WHICH CERTAINLY WAS TEMPTING, THOUGH), but he hadn't said a damn thing about no technology.

Which was why she was making a phone call.

Oh, dear. This situation did sound quite dire indeed, so, rest assured, Ignis wasted very little time in calling Liliana back.

Once he felt a little more confident in being able to do so without the amusement too obvious in his voice.

"If Skywalker objects we can just say we got our game show tropes mixed up."

His fault for creating an unholy amalgam of them in the first place!

Dessert!

Only twenty minutes to make a dessert and there's no ice cream machine, so don't even think about getting fancy and Chopped about it. You also must incorporate tempeh in your dish!

Did Anakin know what tempeh was? Not even a little!

"Okay, so, can you cook?" Raiden asked Stewart, because he was at least going to try to get some teamwork going here even though he knew he could have bodied this challenge with one hand tied behind his back.

"Never heard of it." Just because Vi was willing to eat almost anything didn't mean she'd necessarily tried everything. "Figured as much, and my girl doesn't complain.

Was she getting flashbacks to Steph's pantry when she'd first started hanging at her place? Yep.
