Was anyone looking slightly worried about the pantry ingredients and refrigerated chests Anakin had hauled out the park? Good. You should be worried. There were also three cooking stations set up, and three stacks of terrible, eye-searing shirts in front of Anakin.

Someone stop him from watching food competitions shows into the early hours, gang. "Today will be a cook off!" he announced far-too-loudly through the megaphone. "As always you will work in teams. Your teams will be divided into pairs and as that pair you will work on an appetizer, then tag in the next pair to complete a main dish, and finally your third team pair will make a dessert!"

That seemed too easy.

"You will be bound together like a three-legged race."

There we go.

"And while the food supplies are overwhelming in the choices available to you, the only equipment you have will be what you would find in a typical college freshman's dorm, or in the home of a recently divorced man. Listen for your names! Don't use your powers!"

Okay, not having to participate and mock others was much better than being in the thick of it.

Dean settled back to enjoy the chaos.

"How bad do you think the results are going to be?"

No, she didn't know about the cicada Malort at the bar to compare it against.

"I would say somewhere between barely edible and 'somebody get a stomach pump'," Dean replied, giving Jane a smile. "Though they do have a George Foreman grill. That's a very versatile tool."

"For dessert?" The real rest, that.

"You could grill fruit on it," Dean mused. "And maybe make a waffle or something."

"I'm getting hungry now."

"Oh, be my guest in trying out what they make." Jane, don't be mean.

"Hey, I will eat whatever Raiden puts down," Dean said, rising to the challenge. "And as cool as I think Beaker is, that's probably the only team I'm not going to eat from."

"Very brave of you still," Jane replied. "Now the other concern is what will Beaker set on fire."

"I got five bucks that says the microwave goes up in smoke," Dean said, looking over the equipment. "Seems like the most likely situation."

"It almost seems too easy," Jane replied. "Maybe he somehow turns the rice cooker into a bomb?"

Guys, this was a school.

We all know what happens in this school.

"I can totally see that," Dean agreed. "And at one point you know his hand is going to be stuck in the grill."

Good luck getting the melted felt off of that.

"I... don't think I want to smell that," Jane admitted slowly.

"I have a feeling there are a lot of bad smells coming our way," Dean warned.

"Maybe if we sit a little further back..."

No, Jane. Not even then.

"You mean like on the other side of the park?" Dean joked. "Besides you should be close by when the fire starts."

Not if the fire starts. When.

Yeah, the when was pretty clear.

"At least we know everyone else is suffering with us," Jane said with a sigh. Yes, suffer with them, Anakin. The cause of all this.

"Could be worse," Dean pointed out as he attempted to put his arm around Jane for a comforting side hug. "We could be cooking."

Jane leaned into that without hesitation. "Thank god for that. I'm not a good cook."

"Somehow, I don't think that matters down there," Dean said, rubbing her shoulder a bit. "It's going to turn into the Apocalypse Now of food challenges. Plus you if you were involved you could always end everything with a lightning strike."

Clearly better than cooking.

"Oh, I could, couldn't I?" Look, it didn't occur to her!

Hey, she's not as sneaky as Dean!

"Yep. Thunder boom. Crack of lightning. Anakin in tears."

Probably not the last one.

Maybe just horrible flashbacks to lightning damage.

"I might have competition on that front though."

Don, you better not literally steal her thunder.

"Well, I don't see the other guy around," Dean said looking around for the other Thor. "Though I kind of wish he did it for those mascot suits last week."

Those things were not comfortable.

"But those were so cute!" Said the person who never wore one.

"Yeah but they were not comfortable," Dean said, shifting slightly at the thought of wearing that thing.
