Another Wednesday, another insane set-up in the park!

Today there was a new, six part metal obstacle course set up: a tilted cube, a mountain, a loading bay, the ridge, the front line, and The Sisters.

"Welcome to professional tag," Anakin yelled into his megaphone, "which is apparently a sport now. We will divide into two teams: Team Pizza will be the taggers, Team Dread will be the, um, don't get tagged."

He was from a different galaxy, what do you want from him?

"Going in pairs, you will have 20 seconds in the obstacle course to either track down or evade the other person. If you get tagged, the other team gets a point. If you evade getting tagged, your team gets a point It's pretty easy. Listen for your name and then come get your shirt!"

Annie was more than happy to actually make it to the park this week to watch, given that last week she'd spent most of Wednesday slipping in and out of naps while watching people run obstacle courses on television, and today she was feeling a lot better.

The cicadas were a whole thing, though, and Annie couldn't help but kind of frown at the trees when she realized how goddamn loud they were. Like, she was from Iowa, she was super used to bugs, and yet.

Did Faye know that the only way to ensure she was never involved in this was to stop showing up?

Yes, but then how would she get to watch everyone else suffer? There was spectating of people she knew to be done here. She wasn't going to miss out, thank you.

She even had popcorn today, as she lounged in the stands. Look, she just had a really good feeling that she wasn't going to be picked. Call it a hunch.

Actually, no.

He just figured it would better than having to deal with the cheese panda any longer than necessary.

It only took one second to see the set-up to know that he had been very, very wrong.

Maybe they wouldn't call his name?

And if they did, he could slip away before anyone noticed?

Ben laughed as he put his existential shirt on. His husband, the philosophy teacher, would probably have a thing or two to say about how relevant the shirt was for him.

"I actually kind of like this," Annie noted, holding up her weird pizza shirt to admire it before pulling it on. "Like, I'll sleep in this. Work out in it. Horrify my mom with it."

Oh, man, this thing had great 'answering the door and pissing off Ashley' potential at work, even.

He kind of loved it and was probably going to be wearing it everywheeeere.

(Well, when he wasn't supposed to be in Crownsguard black, anyway).
