Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Whatever aspect of the island made sure the weather was nice on picnic day didn't seem to be able to control the temperature. It wasn't freezing, but it would definitely more comfortable out on the lawn with a coat on. Thankfully, the conditions were just right for a bonfire in the center of the lawn, so people could gather and stay warm once they'd made their introductions.
Once the tables and chairs were set up and everything was properly glittered, all that was needed were people!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
...the surreal nature of the situation was beginning to dawn on him and settled in. To be here in a capacity that had nothing to do with Prompto and absolutely without Noctis was...
...well. It was different, to be sure.
But there was nothing to be done about it now, he supposed, except perhaps hoping that whatever they had by way of coffee here at the picnic was at least marginally better than what he had been subjected to at the bus terminal.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
Seivarden wasn't a teacher buddy, but she had promised Summer to let her spare room to a new teacher.
Who wore gloves. Rather decadent ones. That was hard not to notice.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
She bowed slightly. "Summer told me you needed a room while staying here."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
So there was the source.
"Then she must have been in touch with Prompto, because he assured me that living arragements were being made, despite the fact that living arragements hardly seem necessary when I am not intending to live here at all. Please don't feel obligated on my behalf; I appreciate the hospitality, but I will likely only be here for a few days a week with respect to this class I've been roped into, and the hotel accomidations here are more than adequate...It hardly seem fair to inconvenience a stranger for the sake of a madcap idea gone disturbingly into fruition..."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
She added: "I hope you don't mind cats."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
Better kitchen amenities, at any rate, he assumed.
But there was something that gave him a little extra pause as he peered over at Seivarden curiously.
"Cats?"
It wasn't the feline aspect itself that was the problem, but whether or not that was a plural in the general sense of cats overall, or a plural in the sense that there would be many specific cats involved in this situation.

“Oh that’s good,” Barry said letting out a sigh of relief. “Breaking in someone into the weird shit around here might be a time honored tradition around here but I always thought it made for a rough start. At least you got a leg up on the interdimensional bullshit that is Fandom.”
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
He figured the last name alone would likely spark any indication of interaction with the other Argentum as well, though he couldn't imagine anyone being ever completely free of her wrath on such a small island...

Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
When she wanted to be, at any rate.
"I believe I probably have her to thank for being here."
Although, honestly, it had been a perfect storm of a few different factor, though he would be surprised if she wasn't ultimately the driving force behind it all.

And the only reason Nina didn't try to mob him with a hug was, guess what, she was sometimes really nice and was holding out some of his proper coffee for him, brought from home.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"Nina." The difference between tones in their respective greeting could give a person whiplash. "Good to see you've had a nice, safe trip back from Insomnia."
You know. The one she'd taken by portal. Not invisible bus...
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"I come bearing Ebony for you," she said sweetly, offering him the can. It was still warm! "And yes, I did have a nice trip back!!!!!!!!! Did you enjoy the shuttle?????????"
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"I have to admit," he said, "something about it felt a bit...lacking. I found it a bit difficult to see what all the hype was about."
And with that, he had a sip, and fought off the urge to ask if Nina had possibly brought more than one can with her.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"It wasn't the most extravagant iteration of The Bus," she allowed. "But, like, after the murderous inflatables I didn't want to go that route and I needed something I could do when I wasn't going to be around for it........."
So invisibility it had been!
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"Well, I will say," he said, after another lingering sip of perfect, life giving Ebony, "I am glad to have witness your work with my own two eyes this time."
A sip.
"In a manner of speaking, anyway. But the ride was fine. It afforded me the chance to have a nice chat with your Bus Dean."

"Ignis Scientia?"
It wasn't really a question.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"Not," he added, "in a stictly legal sense. But in every other way that matters."
The Argentums might have the job of 'parent' on paper, but considering they were two-for-two on having not really done much in that respect, did they really deserve it?
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
Ignis's chin lifted a little, leading the way for a tilt of his head.
"I see," he said, caught in a rare moment of not knowing precisely how to respond, especially since he knew absolutely nothing of this plan beyond the incredibly current news that he had apparently taken Nina under his wing, although his immediately thought was that he really was in no place to comment. Strictly speaking, his own relationship with Nina was...entirely professional.
The corner of his mouth moved into a small grin. "Then it's very nice to meet you, Liam. You must be a very brave man."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"You know, everyone keeps saying that?" he said with a laugh. "Though, that was also the reaction I got when I first started dating my wife, so."
It was possible he just gravitated towards a certain type of person, yes.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
And, since Ignis was also one to recognize patterns easily, he could not help somewhat reflecting the narrative with his own.
"So you're already well versed in the type," he noted. "And I'm sure their lives are much better for it, as well. As someone who's worked with Nina, might I recommend pehraps a touch more discipline? A tall order, though, I understand. Believe me. I also know the type."
Because actually Ignis had more experience in being a parent to a stubborn, willful child than years Liam had even been alive, which was quite the accomplishment for a twenty-year-old!
