Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Whatever aspect of the island made sure the weather was nice on picnic day didn't seem to be able to control the temperature. It wasn't freezing, but it would definitely more comfortable out on the lawn with a coat on. Thankfully, the conditions were just right for a bonfire in the center of the lawn, so people could gather and stay warm once they'd made their introductions.
Once the tables and chairs were set up and everything was properly glittered, all that was needed were people!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Not," he added, "in a stictly legal sense. But in every other way that matters."
The Argentums might have the job of 'parent' on paper, but considering they were two-for-two on having not really done much in that respect, did they really deserve it?
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
Ignis's chin lifted a little, leading the way for a tilt of his head.
"I see," he said, caught in a rare moment of not knowing precisely how to respond, especially since he knew absolutely nothing of this plan beyond the incredibly current news that he had apparently taken Nina under his wing, although his immediately thought was that he really was in no place to comment. Strictly speaking, his own relationship with Nina was...entirely professional.
The corner of his mouth moved into a small grin. "Then it's very nice to meet you, Liam. You must be a very brave man."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"You know, everyone keeps saying that?" he said with a laugh. "Though, that was also the reaction I got when I first started dating my wife, so."
It was possible he just gravitated towards a certain type of person, yes.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
And, since Ignis was also one to recognize patterns easily, he could not help somewhat reflecting the narrative with his own.
"So you're already well versed in the type," he noted. "And I'm sure their lives are much better for it, as well. As someone who's worked with Nina, might I recommend pehraps a touch more discipline? A tall order, though, I understand. Believe me. I also know the type."
Because actually Ignis had more experience in being a parent to a stubborn, willful child than years Liam had even been alive, which was quite the accomplishment for a twenty-year-old!
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"Oh?" he asked. "Any pointers, then?"
Look, he knew Nina well enough to know there was an extremely high likelihood of her bolting at the first sign of disapproval. So, yes, he was genuinely invested in figuring out how to manage that whole 'discipline' thing in a way that she wouldn't take quite so personally.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"If I come up with any that actually work," he quipped, "you'll be the first to hear of them. So far, all I've managed to come up with a patience."
A pause.
"Miles and miles of patience. And a firm stubborness of your own, with a willingness to bend, albeit slightly. Knowing when to pick your battles. And always...always being there, no matter what."
...huh. Apparently, he had more advice for it than he had realized...
Though that last one came with no small twinge of regret for where he stood right now.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
He was pretty sure she'd finally gotten the message after he'd, well, responded so quickly to her literal message when she'd arrived back on the island at the end of summer. But he also had the feeling that she still entertained some doubts now and then.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"Well," he offered, philosophically, with a small gesture of his hand, "if at first you don't succeed...try, try again."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Spring 2021]
"I've no intention of stopping," Liam told him in all seriousness.
