"Right!" he yelled through the megaphone. "Today we have a new and fun team-building game where you will be in groups of four!"

How thrilling!

"You will get matching socks for greater teambuilding!"

...sure?

"And put your feet up in the air so I may rest a bucket on them!"

Anakin, what.

"The first team to remove all of the socks from their feet without dropping the contents of the bucket on themselves wins!"

Anakin, you totally made this game up, didn't you.

"Listen for your names! And no use of special powers to win."

Nina was now two weeks in a row having forgotten to sign up for the shenanigans but given the activity, she wasn't feeling too bad about it.

For one, this did not sound like a very easy activity to remain ladylike in and, like, she didn't want everyone to see her underthings while she lay on her back with her feet in the air…

For another, this was going to make an absolutely fantastic video to send to the guys in Insomnia.

She was super not sorry for getting this on video, Prompto. Super duper not sorry, especially as he got covered in slime.

Why yes, yes that was Nina scrambling away from him with a shriek that was mostly laughter.

"Oh my gosh, don't even try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, hitting send on that video even as she was doing her best to, uh, not hug him.

So yes, yes they had found a time where Nina would deny him a hug.

You may be all tiny and sneaky, Nina, but Prompto was pretty nimble and spry himself, and he was definitely not going to give up so easily on letting you slip out of Slime's Sweet Embrace. "You're really going to do me like that? Deny me, me, Prompto, your, like, second best friend, your best-worst fake-brother, your Yellow Diamond," oh, yeah, he was pulling out all the stops on this one, "a simple hug? That's how it's gonna be, huh?"

And, as such, hearing the protest in her voice and figuring it to be merely because she knew she was about to be nuzzled by slime, Prompto saw only opportunity in that misstep and all but pounced.

The responding chuckle suggested neither regret nor remorse, and he was going to go ahead and wipe the back of his slimy hand on Nina's cheek if he could manage it.

He was, however, careful to avoid messing up her hair. Messing up hair, he could understand, would be going a step way too far.

"There," he said, satisfied that she'd been sufficiently slimed via hug, and drawing away to appreciate his hard work. "Now do I get to send a picture of you all covered in slime to the guys, too?"

Jack was bored and feeling social-ish. She went to see what fresh new hell Anakin was inflicting on people this week.

She saw the socks. She cackled so hard she had to sit down and wipe the tears away. "Fjord, if you don't want your socks, I will pay cash for them when you're done."

Because come on! Anakin face socks?! Anakin had bought socks with his own face on them for other people to wear? "Oh man. I need those. I need to find if there's matching boxers."

Jack pumped her fists in the air. "Right on! I can shrink 'em in the wash, I bet!" She'd shrunk half her t-shirts that way. Hot water on demand was still something of a novelty.

"Gonna wear 'em and do some run and slides," Jack chirped happily, holding her arms out as though she were on a surfboard, "Really make the guy fly! Nyoom!"

"Now there'd be a sight." Fjord was still a little out of sorts, but hell, he could appreciate a little good-natured mocking of the man responsible for this fresh Wednesday hell they were trapped in any day. "You gonna make that a spectator sport?"

It's a good thing Liam wasn't much into the seafood to start with, or he might have wondered at the lack of fish-related snack options. As it was, there was plenty to stock up on while he waited (... why did he continue to sign up for these things?) for his name to be called.

So guess Octavia hadn't really run into Liam since that one pretty tense conversation, huh? It wasn't like she'd done it on purpose - but she also hadn't actively sought him out.

But here he was, and here she was, and so:

"Hi, Liam." There was a hint of wariness to it. And another, even more vague one, of softness.

He'd thought, a few times, about stopping by her place, or the flower shop, but... given how their last conversation had went, he'd decided against it. Obviously.

Which is probably why Liam didn't end up brushing it off with a standard "Fine" or "Good" or something of the like.

"This week? Glad for the reprieve." Last week had been fun, at least, if weird. But there had still been the dread that settled in as Monday approached and he started to wonder what the next week would be. That it seemed to be another mostly-harmless week (for him, as a non seafood lover nor owner of pet fish) was definitely a relief. One that he expected they'd pay for dearly come Monday, but a relief nonetheless.

Octavia hadn't been to one of these things since the beginning of the summer. And she wasn't entirely sure why she was here now. But she was.

Maybe it was the snacks? She was currently partaking in a healthy selection of those, after all.
