Shame Anakin was going to ruin that for everyone, huh?

"Right!" he yelled through the megaphone. "Today we have a new and fun team-building game where you will be in groups of four!"

How thrilling!

"You will get matching socks for greater teambuilding!"

...sure?

"And put your feet up in the air so I may rest a bucket on them!"

Anakin, what.

"The first team to remove all of the socks from their feet without dropping the contents of the bucket on themselves wins!"

Anakin, you totally made this game up, didn't you.

"Listen for your names! And no use of special powers to win."

Because that was how you got a slime covered chocobro launchng himself at you in the attempts to snare you in a big, slimy hug.

"Niiiiiiinaaaaaaa!" Prompto said, once his team had failed completely due to Flowery McGee over there, moving in for the oh-so-innocent glomp. "I'm so glad you caaaaaame to waaaatch!"

And maybe get covered in slime, tooooooo! She wasn't going to deny him a hug, now, was she?

Why yes, yes that was Nina scrambling away from him with a shriek that was mostly laughter.

"Oh my gosh, don't even try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, hitting send on that video even as she was doing her best to, uh, not hug him.

So yes, yes they had found a time where Nina would deny him a hug.

"Oh, come on!" You may be all tiny and sneaky, Nina, but Prompto was pretty nimble and spry himself, and he was definitely not going to give up so easily on letting you slip out of Slime's Sweet Embrace. "You're really going to do me like that? Deny me, me, Prompto, your, like, second best friend, your best-worst fake-brother, your Yellow Diamond," oh, yeah, he was pulling out all the stops on this one, "a simple hug? That's how it's gonna be, huh?"

That had been how it was going to be, but one word in that made fleeing, like, suddenly seem like a secondary thing?

"Fake-brother?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????? ?!?!?!??!?!" she protested, missing a step. "Prompto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

That, like, actually hurt?

Well, he hadn't meant it like that!

And, as such, hearing the protest in her voice and figuring it to be merely because she knew she was about to be nuzzled by slime, Prompto saw only opportunity in that misstep and all but pounced.

Which was definitely earning him another indignant protest.

The responding chuckle suggested neither regret nor remorse, and he was going to go ahead and wipe the back of his slimy hand on Nina's cheek if he could manage it.

He was, however, careful to avoid messing up her hair. Messing up hair, he could understand, would be going a step way too far.

"There," he said, satisfied that she'd been sufficiently slimed via hug, and drawing away to appreciate his hard work. "Now do I get to send a picture of you all covered in slime to the guys, too?"

He got her cheek, but good call on the hair or else she might have murdered him and that would have been a very sad thing indeed.

(Though, from how lovely Bus Dean's hair was, she thought he'd understand her reaction entirely.)

"Oh, please," she scoffed, turned to sulk at him. A bit about the slime, sure, but also still stinging from the fake-brother jibe. "As if they'd want to see pictures of me covered in slime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It wasn't like they cared about her in this iteration of the universe, after all!

But, even with that, she was really, really hoping that they appreciated the video she'd sent of him getting covered in it.

"I can guarantee," Prompto said, meeting that sulk on her face with pout of his own, but only briefly; he couldn't hold it before his faint, lopsided grin took over, "that if they had a choice over whose slime-covered face they had to look at, they would not be picking my ugly mug."

He had managed to pull out his camera in that magical sort of way of his where it almost seemed like he'd summoned it out of his pocket and was snapping a picture before she could even protest.

"But I won't really send it," he assured her. "Not if you don't want me to. That one's for my own refrence."

And possible future blackmail. Mwa ha ha.

Yeah, she was side-eyeing him for that bit.

"They have seen other pictures of me, right????????????" she asked, stepping over to see if she could see just how bad her picture was right now, slime and all. "Because, like, if that's the first picture they see of me, I will murder you!!!!!!!!!!!"

Despite himself, Prompto chuckled a little more, turning the camera around so that Nina could see her lovely little slime-covered pouting face in the viewscreen. "Don't worry," he assured her. "They have seen other pictures of you. I mean, you remember the Great Ketchup War of 2019, don't you?"

No, he hadn't sent them pictures of her covered in ketchup, either, but it was just too good of a tease to pass up.
