Library is Open, 3/29

Zero opened up the library again today, carrying a box of danishes from Jeff, God of Biscuits', which she set up behind the collections desk.

It was way too early in the morning to be conscious.

Second Period

Still way too early in the morning to be conscious, but Zero was awake enough to be attempting to write a teal deer song.

Third Period

Did she forget to put Fish in his cage before she left the room? Oh, well, she was sure it would be fine.

Peter walked into the library before Government. To study. Really. Why would you doubt him?

Even though he was going to study, really, it would be impolite if he didn't stop by the desk to say hi. "Hi," he said. See? Very polite.

"Stuff is good. College financing is especially good thanks to Parker," Peter said. "If she ever gets lawyers involved in something on your behalf, you'll walk away happy."

"Parker is a scary, scary woman, and I say this as her friend. I can only imagine she'd be more scary with lawyers."

"I'm thinking her lawyers are a bunch of sharks. Literally. She dangles the people she's suing above the tank and threatens to drop them in if they don't give in."

Zero shuddered. "I hate sharks. So I can see how that would be effective."

"Mostly. Books don't talk back." She eyed the door to Special Collections and added, "Well. Most books."

"They actually talk?" Peter asked, looking at the door. "I wonder how they do that without a larynx."

Fourth Period

Zero pulled on a pair of dragonhide gloves, left an "In case of my lack of return," note, and ventured into Special Collections to put color-code stickers on some more books.

Lunch

Zero seems to have survived her trip into Special Collections.

The library is closed so the aides and librarian can eat in peace. Are you a library aide or librarian? No? Then out! Out I say!

Fifth Period

Zero is reading The Idiot's Guide to Library Science.

"Can I bug you with a question then?" Angel asked. "I swear it's library related."

"Of course. Bug away." Zero tossed the library science book over her shoulder and smiled at him.

"Great," Angel smiled. He pulled out his notebook. "I need to research... I dunno. Newspapers back home? Can we get stuff that's cross-dimensional?"

"Well, we get cross-dimensional internet, and I know we subscribe to some magazines from different dimensions, so I don't see why we wouldn't. They should be in the databases. We have access in the library, so you could use the student-use computer." Zero gestured toward a corner. The student-use computer is about ten years old and covered in cobwebs. "If you have a laptop with wireless, that's probably the best thing."

((OOC: I have no idea if this is the party line, because 'library facilities' is one of those things we've been trying to figure out from day one. If I'm totally off-base, some other library person please whap me.))

"Computer," Angel repeated, as though he'd rather she suggested he slay a demon instead. "Okay. Um. Maybe you can help me? I'm trying to get access to real estate records back home. I was thinking maybe the ads in newspapers, but that database thing could be it too. What do you think?"

Zero eyed the student-use computer warily for a moment, then decided she'd stick with the shiny library aide computer. "Come around behind the desk and have a seat. I won't tell if you won't." She logged onto the computer and said, "Right, property records. Where should I be looking?"

Sixth Period

Zero is taking advantage of the library's spinny chairs. Whee!

Seventh Period

All that spinning makes a girl tired, and almost no one ever comes in during seventh period. So Zero's put her head down on the desk for a nice nap before closing up. Wake her if you must.
