Library is Open, 3/29

Zero opened up the library again today, carrying a box of danishes from Jeff, God of Biscuits', which she set up behind the collections desk.

"Swerval." Zero hit print, and several seconds later she handed him the resulting printout. "I'm pretty sure I got the right dimension."

"Hey, even if you didn't it's a place to start," Angel said. He skimmed the papers. "I gotta admit I don't even know what I'm looking for. Four walls and a roof is about all I can narrow down."

"Four walls and a roof is a good starting point. You might also consider indoor plumbing. I hear it's a good thing."

Angel wrote that down. "How about floors? Good idea or just a fad?"

"Oh, I think floors are here to stay."

"Probably gonna cost me," Angel said with a grin, but he wrote that down too. He skimmed the listings. "God. Everything costs so much. When did that happen?"

Zero made a face. "Well, it's LA. The housing market there is mad. Not as bad as the Bay Area, of course, but still...pretty bad."

Angel nodded. "Sucks compared to Sunnydale too. Why can't LA be on a Hellmouth?"

"You're sure it's not?"

...

"Okay, point."

"Yeah."

Angel tapped his pen against his paper. "It would answer a lot of questions."

"It would explain Joan Rivers," Zero pointed out helpfully.

"I always figured she was a demon," Angel said.

"So did I. And we don't even have demons and vampires and stuff where I come from."

"Just goes to show," Angel leaned back in his chair. "So what are your plans for the summer?"

"Going home. I'm supposed to take summer classes, you know, get a jump on film school. ~~Only I'll be attending summer camp instead.~~"

"I'm going home too," Angel said. "Still figuring out what I'll be doing, but whatever it is I want a head start. ~~Also my player wants to app a new character for summer camp~~"

"Well, listen, in case some weird dimensional interference kicks in and I never see you again after graduation, all the best, yeah?"

"Awh," Angel looked downcast. "I hope I can still see everybody."

He reached into his coat pocket and produced his Blackberry. "You do email? Bridge fixed this up for me so I can write between my dimension and here. And so I can use it in the first place. Maybe it works the other way 'round?"

"'Course I do. It's, um, skank_zero@gmail.com. With an underscore."

Angel wrote that down. "I've got one for the school but I guess I'll need a new one when I get to LA. Unless the Blackberry keeps the same address?"

Angel frowned.

"Maybe I should ask Bridge."

"Probably a good idea, since he rigged the thing. Does yours do anything weird? They made my fridge, an' it makes milkshakes."

"Yep!" Angel pushed a button and jellybeans were dispensed. "Here ya go. Blackberry flavored. It also does chocolate."

"Oooh, thank you. Guess I owe you a milkshake sometime."
