Library is Open, 3/29

Zero opened up the library again today, carrying a box of danishes from Jeff, God of Biscuits', which she set up behind the collections desk.

"No, not 'excessively nerdy.' 'Excessive' as in 'excessive studying' and 'nerdy' as in 'just plain old regular nerdy'," Peter explained. "Slight but important difference. Although this probably counts as 'excessively nerdy' so I'll stop now."

"I should warn you, the excessive nerdiness is going to happen every now and then. Is there any chance I could earn bonus forgiveness for that through good behavior or something?" Peter asked.

"That's a huge relief, really," Peter said. "As it is, I think I should preapologize for all of the nerdiness, geekiness, and dorkiness you're likely to encounter. But in my defense, I normally get to even this out by running around in my undies and punching bad guys in the face. We just don't have enough of that here."

"True. But I'd have to catch her doing something wrong first, and I'm not too likely to stop by the brothel to see if she's behaving herself," Peter said. "Also, she's kind of a wimp, so I can't hit her hard at all."

"I've never had much luck with ninjas, so I have no problem avoiding her," Peter said. "Thank you for wanting me to live."

"Ninjas would probably make a killing in Vegas," Peter pondered. "Err, in the metaphorical sense. Not in the normal ninja killy sense. Since nobody is lucky with them. I'll... I'll be quiet now."

"Of course, now that you've said that, I'm going to try to nerd everything up a bit to see if you think it's cute," Peter said.

"Sure thing," Peter said, happy that the excessive nerdiness warnings were apparently nothing to worry about anymore. "Trust me, it'll be as easy as 3.14159 for me."

"I've given you multiple warnings," Peter said. "But it's too late, you're stuck with me now."

Peter just grinned for a couple moments, then thought of the time. "I should probably get to class now. Not studying is one thing, skipping class entirely is another," Peter said. "See you later?"

Peter appreciated that Zero knew where to draw the line.

As he left the library, he felt a weird buzzing as he saw something red and tiny scamper past him on its way to somewhere else. He wondered what that was all about as he walked to class.
