Try Not to Die, Tuesday, May 9, 2017

Anakin's workshop met outside the Travelocity office, and he greeted them in his traditional Jedi robes. "Welcome to my class," he said. He pointed to a map of the world that the Travelocity gnomes had given him. "For those of you new to this planet, we are currently here--" he poked the map, "--in Maryland, in the continent of North America. Our travels today will take us to South America, down here--" another poke of the map. "To a nation called Peru. They speak a different language there called Spanish. If you happen to speak it, that will make your lives a little easier. If you don't, well, I hope you're fluent in hand gestures."

That aren't considered rude in Peru. "You will have to complete two tasks while in Peru, and then find me at the final stop. Don't get hurt, don't get arrested, don't get lost. Ready...go."

Who let Anakin design lessons? Who?

Ahsoka felt no reservations whatsoever in using the Force to find the closest envelope. Which of course was for the last flight.

Oh. Oh dear. Well, it was a good thing Merrill's magic was nature based, then. Because yes, she absolutely would be using it to search for the ticket in the sand. Not the earliest one, but she found it, which was good, right?

Yeah, there was no way Khadgar was digging through a dune when he could use his magic to move the sand instead... except sand was really unpleasant to move and he still couldn't find a ticket and ugh, he was going to have sand everywhere.

Jyn was taken aback for more than one reason. First -- Anakin Skywalker? That couldn't be right. Second -- how had she ended up in this class and what were they supposed to be doing? She was going to kill Saw. Third -- all right, the people using what looked like magic to find tickets was pretty cool.

By the time she started digging for her own ticket, all she could find was one for the last flight.

Jason was so side-eyeing everyone who had found their tickets super-quick. And then started digging.

Last flight. Of course. Ugh.

Kaylin found the ticket quickly - sheer luck really - and managed to get herself to the airport without getting herself or anyone else killed.

June knelt down and pawed through the sand as fast as she could, ignoring the grit that flew into her eyes and mouth. She was disappointed when she realized her ticket was for the second flight, but didn't want to risk the time it'd take to find a better one.

Rey was pretty neutral on sand what up, Anakin but she was used to it. She'd credit that with why she had very little problem finding a ticket, but unfortunately it wasn't the early one. Oops.

Re: Road Block!

[personal profile] vrajna_kralis 2017-05-10 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Some people probably would have thought that using the dromonde to look backwards to see where tickets had been buried was a poor use of his skill. Those people were not Tsingani, who believed in using every tactic to their advantage.

To those who didn't know what he was about, it likely looked like Hyacinthe simply sauntered over to a random section of dune, stuck his arm into the sand, and pulled out a ticket.

For the first flight. Naturally.

FN-2187 was good at manual labor, so the digging was no sweat--well, it was a lot of sweat but who cared about that part, really--and he found a ticket pretty quickly. And it was even a good one!

[personal profile] snipsnspecks 2017-05-09 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Really, Anakin?

Given Ahsoka's only previous experiences with llamas had been Kuzco, she opted for carrying the basket.

The poncho wasn't a problem, the hat on the other hand...or montral, rather.

[personal profile] cracksmostly 2017-05-09 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
... Yeah, Merrill opted for the llama because she could never resist animals.

It actually went better than you might think; it wasn't quite like handling halla, but she managed in a decent amount of time.

Well. Until she got distracted for a good long while by talking to the llamas.
spell_chucker: ([neg] that doesn't sound good)

Khadgar was great with animals!

Okay, he was decent with animals and he didn't really have experience with llamas, but he still managed to make it to the farmer without too many bruises.

Jyn was really going to kill Saw.

She was used to carrying heavy weapons and was stronger than she looked despite her size, so she opted for the basket of alfalfa. The hat and poncho were a little ridiculous, though.
thatsweirdright: (awkward hey)

Re: Detour: Rope a Llama or Rope a Basket

[personal profile] thatsweirdright 2017-05-09 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
... Okay, the first option reminded him way too much of the Beefcake Incident, so. Nope.

He donned the hat and poncho (noting, with a certain amount of satisfaction, the prevalence of red shades), picked up that bucket of alfalfa, and made it to the shopkeeper without so much as straining a muscle. And yes, he maybe walked a little faster than most humans ought to be capable of while carrying something of that weight, but hopefully no one noticed.

It did occur to him, as he put down the bucket, to make something of a show of how tooootally tired he was after carrying something that heavy for all that way, though.

[personal profile] notamascot 2017-05-09 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Llamas were scary so Kaylin was having nothing to do with them. The hat and poncho nearly killed her from the heat, but she eventually managed to drag the alfalfa down the road. Walking and carrying stuff she could do.

June didn't like the look of the llamas, so she went with Rope a Basket. The hardest part was swallowing her pride while she put on the hat and poncho.

Neither one of these sounded like anything Rey really wanted to do, but she went for Rope a Basket since she didn't have a ton of shame and could put on a hat and poncho quickly.

She did not do too bad here!

Hyacinthe was good with animals. He was very good with animals. He'd gotten the llamas roped and heading placidly down the road, handing them over to the farmer with no mishaps.

Hyacinthe was also good with people. And when he spotted the farmer's pretty daughter peeking out at him from the side of the barn, well...One thing led to another, okay?

Hyacinthe was not going to be first. Hyacinthe was not even going to be in the top five.

Ahsoka stomped straight towards Anakin like the grumpy not-so-little Togruta she was.

At least he'd have had plenty of warning she was coming.
