Try Not to Die, Tuesday, May 9, 2017

Anakin's workshop met outside the Travelocity office, and he greeted them in his traditional Jedi robes. "Welcome to my class," he said. He pointed to a map of the world that the Travelocity gnomes had given him. "For those of you new to this planet, we are currently here--" he poked the map, "--in Maryland, in the continent of North America. Our travels today will take us to South America, down here--" another poke of the map. "To a nation called Peru. They speak a different language there called Spanish. If you happen to speak it, that will make your lives a little easier. If you don't, well, I hope you're fluent in hand gestures."

That aren't considered rude in Peru. "You will have to complete two tasks while in Peru, and then find me at the final stop. Don't get hurt, don't get arrested, don't get lost. Ready...go."

Who let Anakin design lessons? Who?

Ahsoka felt no reservations whatsoever in using the Force to find the closest envelope. Which of course was for the last flight.

Really, Anakin?

Given Ahsoka's only previous experiences with llamas had been Kuzco, she opted for carrying the basket.

The poncho wasn't a problem, the hat on the other hand...or montral, rather.

Ahsoka stomped straight towards Anakin like the grumpy not-so-little Togruta she was.

At least he'd have had plenty of warning she was coming.

Oh. Oh dear. Well, it was a good thing Merrill's magic was nature based, then. Because yes, she absolutely would be using it to search for the ticket in the sand. Not the earliest one, but she found it, which was good, right?

... Yeah, Merrill opted for the llama because she could never resist animals.

It actually went better than you might think; it wasn't quite like handling halla, but she managed in a decent amount of time.

Well. Until she got distracted for a good long while by talking to the llamas.

Look, Merrill actually remembered she was supposed to get here!

After playing with llamas for the majority of the allotted time. Hush.

Yeah, there was no way Khadgar was digging through a dune when he could use his magic to move the sand instead... except sand was really unpleasant to move and he still couldn't find a ticket and ugh, he was going to have sand everywhere.

Khadgar was great with animals!

Okay, he was decent with animals and he didn't really have experience with llamas, but he still managed to make it to the farmer without too many bruises.

Okay, there weren't too many people here already, so Khadgar was taking that as a good sign.

"Is this... what it's going to be... every week?" he asked, catching his breath. He was really going to have to start reading course descriptions more carefully.

Jyn was taken aback for more than one reason. First -- Anakin Skywalker? That couldn't be right. Second -- how had she ended up in this class and what were they supposed to be doing? She was going to kill Saw. Third -- all right, the people using what looked like magic to find tickets was pretty cool.

By the time she started digging for her own ticket, all she could find was one for the last flight.

Jyn was really going to kill Saw.

She was used to carrying heavy weapons and was stronger than she looked despite her size, so she opted for the basket of alfalfa. The hat and poncho were a little ridiculous, though.

Jason was so side-eyeing everyone who had found their tickets super-quick. And then started digging.

Last flight. Of course. Ugh.

Jyn was muttering curses and listing the ways she was going to kill Saw Gerrera when she finally made it to the end. What the hell was this insane place?

[personal profile] thatsweirdright 2017-05-09 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
... Okay, the first option reminded him way too much of the Beefcake Incident, so. Nope.

He donned the hat and poncho (noting, with a certain amount of satisfaction, the prevalence of red shades), picked up that bucket of alfalfa, and made it to the shopkeeper without so much as straining a muscle. And yes, he maybe walked a little faster than most humans ought to be capable of while carrying something of that weight, but hopefully no one noticed.

It did occur to him, as he put down the bucket, to make something of a show of how tooootally tired he was after carrying something that heavy for all that way, though.

Okay, that was... kinda fun, actually?

Jason couldn't help grinning a little when he saw he was in third place. Which, well. Sure, it wasn't first, but apparently he'd been able to make up a decent amount of the time he'd lost by getting on the last flight, so.
