Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

"Hey, Pippi! Hey Nadia!" Victor said as he walked up tot he girls. "You ladies didn't have to dress up for me, but I like it anyway."

Nadia managed not to blush and gently smacked Pippi's arm. "You look good too, Victor."

Victor sucked in a breath like he was seriously thinking about it. Then, he pulled his lips in tight and shook his head. "Sorry, ladies, as lovely as you are, I'm a man's man, if you know what I'm saying." he winked and grinned.

Walter appeared at Victor's elbow and made a show of looking relieved. "If he were going to leave me, it would definitely have to be for a pair of girls as pretty as you two look tonight."

Walter nodded politely. They didn't look like they'd take a polish very well, and that was generally as far as his interest in shoes extended. "They go very well with your dress," he said as a compromise. "I hope you'llbe able to dance well enough in them to save me a dance."

Nadia glanced from Pippi's shoes and then down at her own well-worn steel toed boots. She thought they went well with her short black dress, but maybe she should have worn heels?

The boots went better with the mallet she had strapped to her thigh beneath her dress, though. . . .

Nadia's boots, on the other hand, would take a polish beautifully with just a bit of care and Walter nodded approvingly at them.

"You look beautiful tonight," he said, because it hardly seemed fair to lavish attention on Pippi when Nadia had obviously put just as much effort into her appearance. "After all the dancing we've done at each other, I suppose we should try one together at some point." Just no dirty dancing.

Nadia smiles, then tilts her head towards the DJs. "If they ever play any music worth dancing to, I'll let you know."

But, god, no dirty dancing. It would probably kill them all.

Okay, that time Nadia did blush. And gently hit Pippi, because, well, she didn't quite know what else to do. "Thanks!" It didn't come out as a squeak. That would have been undignified. "Oh look, not-alcoholic punch! Yum!"

Then giggled because Pippi's nudge hit a ticklish spot.

Walter shook his head and laughed. "Are you slipping, Nadia? Shouldn't we be well on our way to hunting for the cow by now?" Because some teases are just too much fun to let go of.

Nadia grins. "Now that will make this dance fun." She leans closer to Pippi. "It's not tequila, is it? Cause tequila will make the dance more fun for everyone except me."
