Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

Nadia grins. "Now that will make this dance fun." She leans closer to Pippi. "It's not tequila, is it? Cause tequila will make the dance more fun for everyone except me."

Walter snickered and looked away.

She points her herself. "Pirate... It's rum."

Victor snerked and shook his head. "I think I'm gonna be the only sober one tonight."

Nadia cheered softly. "Rum!" She held out her cup to ask for a bit and nodded to Victor. "Yes. Yes you are."

Pippi "refreshes" Nadia's punch with a hit from her flask.

"Say 'hello' to the Rum Goose for us when you see it."

Nadia lifts her glass and takes a long gulp.

Walter holds out his punch, just to be sociable, of course. He can't smoke, might as well indulge a different bad habit.

"Rum goose, eh? I wonder if it bites? Or pecks or honks or whatever they do?"

"With rum," Nadia announces, seemingly entirely serious, "we hunt for the Chinchilla."

~~As the mun bursts out laughing...~~

"Who invented this game?" Victor asked, confused.

"A very drunk American." And she would speak no further of this "game" tonight.

"Chinchilla? Do you think they speak rat? I could probably use some more practice." Although drunken rat might not go over too well. Who knew? He might end up telling it something obscene and then they'd never catch it.

"Chinchillas," she says. "Speak 'Chinchilla'."

"Maybe we could get Professor Dream to teach us," Victor offered.

He's really not trying to be so...innocent. It just happens.

Nadia grinned. "Mostly? It sounds like this: 'meep! meepmeepmeepmeep! pffffffffffffffffft!'"

And then she's blushing again. Her cheeks are getting a hell of a work out tonight.

"As long as there isn't any Wonka's Fizzy Fizz Root Beer... Maybe."

Walter snickered some more and shook his head. "No, that's like an amnesia potion for him and it would be a crying shame to forget the dance."

Victor snerked again and blushed. "That'd probably work tonight, since that was the night..."

He trailed off and looked down at his shoes, clearing his throat. Probably not a safe thing to mention around Nadia. "Um...I'm gonna go get some punch. You want some, Walter?"

"Thanks." Walter grinned. He had a certain sentimental fondness for Wonka's root beer. "Do you want me to come with you?"

"Only if you want to carry your own cup. Don't worry, it's only a few meters away. If a tentacle shoots out of the bowl and tries to strangle me, you'll be the first name I gasp." He grinned and began to walk away.

Pippi wasn't quite paying attention to this exchange but the mention of "tentacle" she takes notice and looks around the gym.

Walter got back from dancing with Victor and leaned in to catch Pippi's attention. "Are you still with us, Miss Longstocking?"

"Sure!" said Pippi.

She looks a little wired.

"What can I do for you Mr. Dornez?"
