Zero opens the library and takes up a post behind the desk with a large cup of coffee and a rather questionable-looking romance novel with a centaur and a mermaid on the cover.

She's actually asleep on the novel, her coffee untouched and cooling next to her. She'll wake up if anyone comes in.

Second Period

Sweet, sweet caffeine. Zero is in a better, more awake mood now.

Angela gives Zero a wary look as she enters the library. "Hi, she mutters, before finding some shelving to do.

Angela's eyes, guarded, land on Zero's face briefly, reading the weather there before skittering down to Angela's own shoes.

"I'll be shelving stuff in fiction if you need me," she said. "I mean ... just in case we get, like, a rush on books."

Third Period

She starts in on the star-crossed tale of a half-fish girl and her star-crossed love affair with a half-horse boy.

Parker came in bearing coffee, chocolate, and CDs. "Hey, Zero," she said, tentatively.

Parker set her jaw, and narrowed her eyes. "Here's some chocolate and coffee. And the CD is a new band out of New York. They are *not* bribes. They're just yours." She folded her arms. "I said I was sorry."

Angela watches the Parker/Zero interaction with guarded eyes, from the safe distance of the fiction section.

She does not like seeing her friends mad at each other. Or at her.

Fourth Period

Zero gives up on the book, but for the rest of the day she'll be bursting into giggles at random intervals. Especially if anyone mentions 'scales' or something like that.

Janet finally made it into the library. She smiled and waved at Zero as she put her backpack down behind the Collections Desk.

Isabel came in at the end of fourth period looking for Parker. "Hey Zero, Janet!"

Cameron heads into the library. He's sling free, but still holding his arm very still. "Yo, Zero." He says, although he's not sure how she'll respond as Parker had warned him she was angry.

Lunch

The library is closed to the public so the library aides can eat their lunches in peace.

Zero leaves the desk to reshelve some books. Perhaps one of the other library aides can help you?

Sixth Period

Zero is back behind the desk, surfing Amazon.com on her laptop. She's looking up the works of Angelica Demesnes, author of The Jade Flower and its sequels.

Parker is waiting for Sydney to show up for their Russian lesson. She's also wishing she had a copy of Amethyst Flower to throw at Zero's head.

Seventh Period

Having used her credit card to spend some of her parents' money on silly romance novels, and the day being drawing to a close, Zero is in the best mood she's been in all week.
