Zero opens the library and takes up a post behind the desk with a large cup of coffee and a rather questionable-looking romance novel with a centaur and a mermaid on the cover.

Janet's eyes widened. "That looks, um--" She peered at the cover. "A mermaid and a centaur? That seems awfully--well, really, the only word for it is fishy."

"I don't even think we have a marine biology teacher," said Janet. "Damn. Maybe if we leave it out on the counter someone will take it? In a high school this weird, we have to have at least one klepto."
