Monster attack

Shots can still be heard down in the town. The troopers seem to be all tied up down there. Which is why it might be disconcerting to anyone watching out the windows to see figures begin rising out of the snow on the lawn of the school. More are moving out of the trees also.

They begin making their way toward the buildings.

[[OOC: If people choose to leave the building to fight, please organize yourselves into groups (preferably in the gym thread) and post your location in the subject line. This will make it a lot easier for me to keep track of everything.]]

Sharon, having followed Sakura out of the dorms, got seperated fairly quickly. She frowned as she thought she could hear... something. She took a tighter grip on her thermos, and checked that the top was loose enough to pull off at a moment's notice.

And waited.

Shep watched as a couple of the sharks circled the foxhole. He wasn't sure a zat would penetrate the snow they were under, and he didn't think zatting the fin would be as effective.

He looked over at Carter. "I'm going to draw the shark to the surface. When you see it, zat it. But you know... holler, so I can try and get out of the way."

"Sure, I blow you up one time..." Sam nodded and winced. Stupid coffee cup. "Go." She took aim and prepared to fire.

Like a raving lunatic, Shep scrambles across the snow and latches onto the nearest fin, hanging on as the shark surfaces and tries to throw him. It was like when he'd gone swimming with the dolphins once in Florida. Only a lot more deadly. "Carter?"

The snow shark was not appreciating being ridden like a dolphin.

It expressed its displeasure by trying to eat Shep.

As snow sharks do.

Shep held on. The good thing about snow sharks, is that like regular sharks, they have no neck and therefor can't reach around and get anything on their backs. Though someone could toss a bucket of hot water or something on it any time now.

He was also really starting to wish he had a pair of gloves. There was a notch the width of his hand melting into the front of the snow shark's dorsal fin. When that broke off, he was going to be screwed.

Noting the almost-cowboy, and his ride, Sharon ran towards them, keeping her balance long enough to open the thermos and splash hot cocoa on the head of the shark. Then she tumbled and went down. "Oof."

"Yeah?" Blinking to clear her vision, Sam fired repeatedly at the ground under the fin, trying not to hit Shep.

"Blast!" Anakin yelled. "Look down!"

A fin was advancing at an alarming rate.

With a snarl, he swiped down into the snow with his lightsaber.

The fin split in half.

Then reformed.

Slightly smaller.

Gonna have to do better than that, Jedi.

Anakin cursed under his breath.

Then his lightsaber become a blur as he melted snow shark as fast as possible.

The snow shark melted.

His friends are not pleased.

Can you repeat that trick with three sharks?

Anakin looked at Zoe, then at her gun.

"Bet that could slow them down a bit at least," he said.

Zoe aimed for the two furthest away.

Anakin took the one right at his feet.

Melting snow hissed against the lightsaber.

"Jesus," Logan exclaimed, staring at the fins. Then he lifted his head. "Anyone else hear that music?"

Logan leaned over and hit a fin with the flame from his blowtorch.

The fin disappeared under the surface.

Then reappeared, slightly smaller and made another run at Logan.

The blowtorch fuel was running low. Logan decided to try another method and tried to stomp on the fin.

Susan overslept. But she's here now, in boots and a black cloak, and she's staring around in a kind of sick horror. They'd been out rolling in this last night. They could have been killed.

She pulls a sword out of god-only-knows-where and gives it a swing. The blade glow like a blue line through the air and makes a humming noise. "Right," she says. "We'll just see about this." And she wades into the fray.

Several minutes of struggling and mmmrphing finally took effect, and with a spectacular icy crackle, Artie started to bob and jump again. He leaped over the snow sharks, kicking at the fins.

The snow shark comes out of the snow, icy teeth bared.

Artie jerked back from the icy teeth, bellowed about the shark being an "icky icy foul thing of iciness", and stomped on the icy head.

Then he bounds off across the lawn around the school.

The snow shark disappeared into the snow.

Five minutes later, it reappeared, seeking out less aggressive prey.
