Monster attack

Shots can still be heard down in the town. The troopers seem to be all tied up down there. Which is why it might be disconcerting to anyone watching out the windows to see figures begin rising out of the snow on the lawn of the school. More are moving out of the trees also.

They begin making their way toward the buildings.

[[OOC: If people choose to leave the building to fight, please organize yourselves into groups (preferably in the gym thread) and post your location in the subject line. This will make it a lot easier for me to keep track of everything.]]

The sharks were not pleased to have lost one of their brethren.

Four of the fins advanced on Shep.

And anyone else nearby.

"Aw crap!" He pulls his zat out and begins firing, little sizzles of steam coming up where he hits the non-mobile snow. And the fins are still advancing.

"Crap, crap, crap..." he heads back for the foxhole, jumping in head first. But he's just a tad too late and a set of icicle teeth clamp onto his ankle. So now he's trying to use his hands to pull himself into the hole as the shark tries to pull him backwards. In a moment of hysteria he was reminded of that old sci-fi movie and the sarlac pit.

"Someone help!"

Sam shot repeatedly at the shark, then reached down and tried to pry Shep's foot loose from the shark's mouth. When that didn't work, she braced her feet against the snowbank and offered her hands. "Grab hold, Sheppard!"

Shep grabbed her hands, though his hands were starting to hurt like hell. He could feel the blood seep through his jeans, briefly warming his ankle. Finally starting to get completely pissed, he told Carter to pull hard as he braced himself and kicked back at the shark's nose as hard as he could with his other foot.

The shark let go...

... which of course left Shep and Carter in a tangle in the crater when the counter-force was released. Shep looked down at her. "Um... oops."

"Hey." Sam said, calmly rolling to her side and getting up on her knees, stopping again for a second as her vision blurred. "You okay?"

She pulled a zat and fired it at another advancing shark. Nothing happened. "Okay, so next idea?"

Shep sat up, poking at his wounds. That gave him an idea.

"Grossly enough, yes. You got that coffee cup you got hit with?"

Sam looked at Shep like he was out of his mind. "I left it over by the side of the building. Why?"

"Sam!" Daniel shouted, again spotting her in the crowd. He ran (well, as best as he could) towards her, firing his zat at what looked like any snow that moved.

"Damn," He looks around for another way to enact his plan.

"That Valarii girl killed the one by dumping hot liquid on it's head and melting its brain. I don't have any cocoa, but hey, hot liquid is hot liquid, right?" He gestures down to his bleeding ankle.

"Daniel!" Sam waved him over, still firing, and made a face. "Okay, that's repulsive, even if it might be effective. Aren't there other bodily fluids you could use?"

"Have you seen Janet?" he demanded. "And are you okay?"

Nice priorities there, Daniel.

Sam rolled her eyes. "Janet's in seeing to the wounded, Daniel. And I'm bleeding, so the situation's normal." She paused. "Y'know, if you're us. Any sign of Jack?"

Shep thinks for a minute. "Okay, but if I get detention for this, I'm gonna tell them I was just following orders."

Shep hobbles to his feet and reaches for his zipper. "Hey, turn around," he tells Sam.

And then he undoes his fly and pees on the shark's head. His aim in this is as good as it is with a zat. It flops for a second and then disappears into the snow from which it came.

There might be some sharky snickering coming out of the snow as his buddies mock him.

Sam turned around, unable to stop laughing. "Thank god I don't have to explain this in a report."

Sharon dodged away from the fins, getting better at running in the snow. She veered away from the foxhole, figuring splitting them up would at least give her a fighting chance. "This was stupid, this was stupid, this was so frakking stupid," she repeatwed under her breath. Oddly, she didn't seem to be losing her breath, but she figured she just hadn't gotten tired enough.

Glancing over her shoulder, she noticed at least one of the fins close behind and figured there wasn't anything else to do but turn and wait.

Sam noticed the fin chasing after Sharon, and fired at it.

The gunfire causes the shark to pause long enough for Sharon to whip the thermos out and down, breaking through the snow and smashing through the head, making it fall into a pile of nothing but snow.

Not waiting to see if it stays 'dead', Sharon gave up her divide and conquer plan and ran back towards the foxhole, dropping into it a few moments later with a semi-breathless, "Thanks!"

Shep sees Sharon bound into their foxhole just as he finishes zipping up.

"Oh hey, fancy seeing you again."

"Yeah. The whole divide and conquer thing?" Sharon waves a hand, completely oblivious to the zipping thing. "Not so good when you're weaponless."

She glances at Sam and frowns at the blood on her, "She doesn't look so good."

Shep glances over at Sam. "Friendly fire," he explains. "Poorly aimed coffee mug."

He debates explaining that while it might be a little harder for the ladies... Sharon wasn't necessarily weaponless.

Sadly, Shep might have to use pretty plain language. Sharon's a bit panicky. And might just laugh in his face. "We could use coffee..."

Shep smiles at her. "I think I did. It was this morning's." He waits to see if she does the math... or in this case, the biology.

Luckily, Sharon hasn't had biology. Though her brain is logical enough to slowly start working through and grasping exactly what Shep is suggesting. And when the idea finally does make it to the surface, she simply gapes at him.

"I-but--er, I mean..." She flails for a second, before saying firmly, "No. No. Ew." Even if he has a point.

"Hey it worked!" he says defensively. "I wanted to use blood, but Carter over there thought... other fluids would be better. I do have to say... it's easier to aim her way."
