Since Parker told me I could couldn't seem to get her act together, Marty opened up the gun range and did a once-over the weapons locker to make sure that everything was in order.

He then made sure that the safety rules were up:

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

Breaking any of these rules means an immediate visit with Mr. Smith, or the guy with the funny hat.

After making sure his 9mm was in proper working order, he posted a target at the other end of the range and started firing. It had been a while since he'd been on the range but he was glad to see his skills hadn't deteriorated too much.

Sam waved to Marty, then put on her ear protection, checked her 9mm, loaded it, and began shooting at the target.

When more than one of them went wide, she realized exactly how out of practice she was and resolved to get more practice time in at the range. This wouldn't do.

Marty waved back as he pulled out his sniper rifle and began the cleaning before assenbling it. "How's it going Sam?"

"Can't complain," Sam said as she reloaded her pistol, slamming the clip home. "You?"

She took aim again and tried to focus.

Janet waved to Marty and Sam as she checked over her 9mm and loaded it. She had her med kit stashed in a corner of the room where she could keep an eye on it easily. She put on her ear protectors, then started firing at a target.

She'd forgotten about her bruised ribs until the recoil jolted through her. Damn it! She winced and bit the inside of her cheek hard to keep from exclaiming.

Sam noticed Janet's wince. "You okay?," she mouthed, knowing Janet couldn't hear her with the ear protection anyway.

Nadia was familiar enough with a gun to pick up one of the pistols, make sure it was loaded and the safety was off, and fire it.

She'd never used an actual shooting range before, though. She put on the ear and eye protection, stepped up, and took a couple shots.

They weren't the best shots in the world, but they were going in the general direction of the target.

After checking the locker for the weapons she bought from Tex in October, Parker went to shoot, waving at Marty and Sam in passing.

"Hey Parker. Is your bunny feeling better?"

"Actually, yes. She's just fine, thanks for asking." Parker sighted down her gun. "And she was bunnynapped, not sick. But she's back now."

Parker shot five rounds into the heart of the target in quick succession. Not that she was imagining it was Jarod, or anything.

Parker calmed down as she kept shooting, looking almost cheerful after a while.

Pippi set up at a range and went about cleaning the barrel, frizzen, and pan of her flintlock.

She also put a new bit of flint in the dog, all the while humming what sounds like "Blow the Man Down".

Kara grabs her Colonial firearm from the locker and does a quick check. Pulling on a pair of ear protectors, she picks a booth and sets up a target.

It feels good to shoot again, but she's a little rusty as it's been awhile.

Cameron hears the noise and goes open it. "Dude, what's going on?"

The DL-44 feels nicely heavy in his hand. He sets it to needle-beam bolt and takes aim at the humanoid silhouette. The slug-throwers everyne else is using are loud.

John loaded up a few of his babies, gave them the once-over, and proceded to empty a few clips. And in the case of the 6 guns, a few speedloaders.
