Gun Club: [1/28]

Since Parker told me I could couldn't seem to get her act together, Marty opened up the gun range and did a once-over the weapons locker to make sure that everything was in order.

He then made sure that the safety rules were up:

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

Breaking any of these rules means an immediate visit with Mr. Smith, or the guy with the funny hat.

After making sure his 9mm was in proper working order, he posted a target at the other end of the range and started firing. It had been a while since he'd been on the range but he was glad to see his skills hadn't deteriorated too much.

Sam waved to Marty, then put on her ear protection, checked her 9mm, loaded it, and began shooting at the target.

When more than one of them went wide, she realized exactly how out of practice she was and resolved to get more practice time in at the range. This wouldn't do.

Marty waved back as he pulled out his sniper rifle and began the cleaning before assenbling it. "How's it going Sam?"

After helping with brakefast (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/571487.html?thread=27046751#t27046751), Pippi came in with several leather pouches and what might be a powder horn on a belt as well as something wrapped in a bit of canvas (http://static.flickr.com/27/92189976_6b395e771b.jpg?v=0).

"Um... I didn't get to sign up for the club... Can I still join? Or at least shoot?"

"Can't complain," Sam said as she reloaded her pistol, slamming the clip home. "You?"

She took aim again and tried to focus.

"Absolutely," Marty replies and then points to the canvas package. "Though you should know that all firearms are required to be put in the weapons locker and shouldn't be on school grounds."

[OOC: Unless you took it out of the weapons locker... Wasn't sure if you knew about that.]

Marty waited until Sam finished shooting her clip before he responded and checked to make sure that his sniper rifle sights were still aligned.

"Cold as hell," Marty replied. "This is worse than living in Michigan."

"Yes, actually. That's part of the reason I'm here... To stow these in the proper place. Somebody mentioned that rule to me in passing the first week and I quite forgot about it... I'm sorry."

Pippi is very sorry indeed.

"Can I clean it and shoot it and clean it again before I have to put it away?"

She watched him sight down the scope and watched him shoot, having missed the opportunity to do so before.

After checking the locker for the weapons she bought from Tex in October, Parker went to shoot, waving at Marty and Sam in passing.

Parker signed in, then went to talk to Marty about turning over the Gun Club.

Time to watch for clues. "Esme was kidnapped last week. I got her back yesterday." She put on her eye protection. "I'm just massively pissed off at the culprits."

Janet waved to Marty and Sam as she checked over her 9mm and loaded it. She had her med kit stashed in a corner of the room where she could keep an eye on it easily. She put on her ear protectors, then started firing at a target.

She'd forgotten about her bruised ribs until the recoil jolted through her. Damn it! She winced and bit the inside of her cheek hard to keep from exclaiming.

Pippi set up at a range and went about cleaning the barrel, frizzen, and pan of her flintlock.

She also put a new bit of flint in the dog, all the while humming what sounds like "Blow the Man Down".
