Gun Club: [1/28]

Since Parker told me I could couldn't seem to get her act together, Marty opened up the gun range and did a once-over the weapons locker to make sure that everything was in order.

He then made sure that the safety rules were up:

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

Breaking any of these rules means an immediate visit with Mr. Smith, or the guy with the funny hat.

I mean if you really *want* to. If she ever bothers showing up. Or you can just talk to Marty since he's here.

"What's your problem Parker? You look more irritated than usual. I wasn't sure that was possible."

Time to watch for clues. "Esme was kidnapped last week. I got her back yesterday." She put on her eye protection. "I'm just massively pissed off at the culprits."

"Who the hell is Esme?" Marty asks with a confused expression on his face.

And she's really not sure if he's that good an actor. Parker loaded her 9mm, scowling in frustration. "My pet rabbit. You might have seen her once or twice. They took her at the beginning of the week, then had me do all that stupid crap like singing to Jarod at Caritas and declaring love for Principal Smith." She shook her head. "And one of them got away, so..." She put her ear protection on, and pointed at the target.

"Oh... So that what was going on. I didn't think you had a thing for Smith. The partidge family and Jarod maybe, but not the whole love for Smith thing," Marty says with a serious expression. "Any idea who did it?"

Parker's thrown enough by the second statement the question almost gets lost. "No, I don't know. And I don't have thing for Jarod!"

*BANG*

"He was keeping her for the bunnynappers! He thought it was funny! He let me think he was helping!"

"Never is a pretty long time Parker... and uh... should you really be shooting a gun when you're this angry?" Marty asked with a concerned look on his face.

"I am *never* careless with weaponry." Parker said, her voice less threatening now. "And I know exactly how long it is. He's gone too far this time. I have had it with him."

She sighted, and shot four more times, then said, "There was something I wanted to talk to you about, actually."

"Yeah. I figured. If it's about you fixing up Angela with Broots, don't worry about it. We're just friends now and I'm fine with that,' Marty replied trying to look like he really was fine with it. "So don't worry about it."

Parker looked perplexed for a second, then guilty, then relieved. "Good. I mean, he doesn't get out much. And I owed him for that stupid kiss. It's not like he'd let *me* take him anywhere, and since Angela wasn't seeing anyone, and Zero didn't care--" Parker shrugged, then cocked your head. "You guys are okay now? That's... refreshing."

She shook her head. "Actually, it was about Gun Club."

"Okay as we can be," Marty said. "What about the Gun Club?"

"StuCo and my classes are taking up more time this semester than they did in the Fall. I got us a new faculty advisor, Dean Washburn, and I have some other ideas of what to do with the club, but really?" She grimaced. "I could use some extra time off. Would you be willing to take it on? There's a couple other people I can ask, but you're the ex-Security guy, people will listen if you tell them what *not* to do here."

Marty thought about it for a bit.

On the one hand he hated meetings.

On the other hand, it was impossible to hear Parker drone on in a meeting over the gunfire.

"Sure Parker. I'll be happy to to help you out with the club. Anything I need to know?"

"Just that it's Saturdays, usually open for two hours, and oh! I was going to talk to Professor MacGyver about opening up the Danger Shop for Laser Tag or something. I thought that might make it more fun, a couple times a month." She shrugged. "Otherwise, all the basic safety stuff that you know anyway."
