Welcome Dance - the Gym

The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

"I'm not getting drunk," Cameron declares as he realises he's already lost his girl for the punch and quickly follows after her.

Pippi notices Vala's hair.

"Hello again Vala." she says and turns to Cameron. "Hello... Um... I'm sorry, I can't tell if you're the smart one or not."

Pip pokes Cameron in the shoulder. "That's what you think," he says, sipping his punch.

"I'll go thirsty if I have to," Cameron laughs. "Oh, seeing how you're here. That's Vala," he motions towards his girlfriend.

Vala looks up, hearing her name. "Hi, you're one of the new students?"

Pip sticks out a hand in greeting. "Yeah, Pip Bernadette," he responds. "Cameron's told me a lot about you, Vala, right?"

Isabel sees Vala and waves. She wonders how she did in art class today.

"Hey there!" Vala says. "Survived your first week I see?"

"Pretty much, I've managed to avoid the gremlins so I think that's a good thing. Met a bunch of people, decided to run for Student Council, accidently had the vampire find out I'm something not fully human, and I'm still keeping up with my classes. I think I'm doing okay," she smiled.

"Wow, you have been busy!" Vala was impressed. The only thing she'd, managed in her first week of school was getting hung naked up-side-down in the dorms and getting Aeryn to shoot Harkness in the ass in retaliation.

Not that what wasn't something, but Isabel seemeed to be getting with the whole 'appropriate high school behavior' thing faster than she had. "Good luck on the campaigning."

If one of Isabel's special alien powers was mind-reading, she might have thanked Vala for that particular mental picture. Not the upside down or shooting part, but just naked Jack over all. But since she didn't have that power, she decided to talk about campaigning.

"Thanks, I'm actually running with Peter Parker and Bridge Carson. We're proposing monthly, organized game nights. Would you be interested?" She looked towards Cam. "You know Cam? We've talked a couple of times. He's nice."

"You know? That's one of the brighter ideas I've seen. Too bad I can't vote for you, but if you get them started, I'll definitely show up."

Vala laughed. "Yeah, he is, isn't he? He's actually my boyfriend... we even share a dorm room at this point." She smiled. "Glad he's out making the freshmen feel welcome and all."

"That would be great. We're going to try to cover all types of games, Risk, Trivial Pursuit, maybe a Casino Night..." She shrugged, "Of course we need to get elected first."

"Sophomore here! And I was actually supposed to be a Junior. But there was this little matter of missing too many days last year." She rolled her eyes, "I guess all that matters is that I'm out of Roswell."

"You know, at some point I'm going to need a run down on who's dating who. The only couple I know for sure is Belthazor and Phoebe, they were all sappy in speech class yesterday."
