Welcome Dance - the Gym

The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

Party on, dudes! And welcome to Fandom High.

Pip laughs. "Oh no, no, no. I insist. We must obey the edict of the Principal. Point and laugh to your hearts content."

Parker tapped him on the shoulder, then smirked, and pointed. "Do I know you? And if I laugh, will you tell me from where?"

Pip smirks in recognition. "Sort of and yes," he reponds.

"Did I... meet you Wednesday night?" It's not that her memory's gone, it's just that she did a *lot* of stupid stuff that night. She winced a little. "Wait. Crepes?"

Pip points at her. "Bingo. You were looking for your dog. And claimed you had a bunch of kids. Which I don't think you do." He grins and extends his hand. "Pip Bernadette, in case you don't remember," he says.

She shook his hand, trying not to grimace in embarassment. "Parker. In case I told you I was Carol Brady. God, I hate gremlins. The crepe was nice, though."

Pip laughs. "Got it. And thanks for the compliments on the crepe. I thought I saw some guys in jumpsuits wandering around who are supposed to take care of the gremlin problem?"

"Are there? Good, they must be the exterminators." Parker sighed. "It finally wore off later, and I was in a bar, and then there was some drinking. So I apologize if I weirded you out. Thanks for not taking pictures."

"Well," I didn't have my camera with me," Pip says. He grins. "It's almost too bad. The school is losing a valuable source of humor. What else have they done to people?"

"I think Marty pretending to be the former principal is the example that gets cited most. Although Anakin Skywalker believing he was a girl is probably the funniest. Heh." Parker shrugged. "I've been bitten twice now, and I think I've gotten alllll the humor I can stand out of them. Speaking of which, why am I pointing and laughing at you? What did you do to our 'pal' Smith's office?"

Pip snickers. "I'm afraid I don't know Anakin, but that sounds pretty damn funny."

He clears his throat. "Well, I dropped a few smoke grenades outside his office, and when he ran out to see what was going on, Walter and I rebuilt a golf cart on his desk. Got detention for it, but I maintain it was worth it."

Parker threw back her head and laughed. "Oh, god. I *like* that-- no need to confront him directly, just wham! Perfect. If he hadn't already given me a fairly creepy warning, I might be volunteering to help on your next caper." She grinned. "I assume there *will* be a next caper?"

"'Course there will be a next caper," Pip says. "I will probably take a break, though, confine myself to smaller capers between big capers. Gotta pace yourself, after all."

"Precisely. No reason to get expelled when a little time for the administration to cool down merely gets you another detention." She smirked. "I almost regret running for StuCo, since it means I have to be so much more careful in what I do. StuCo members get booted from the Council after two detentions. I need to save up mine."

"Well, then," Vala grinned. Talking a few steps back she pointed ostentatiously and laughed loudly for a moment.

"There, is that better?"

Pip nods. "Immensely. I was beginning to fear that no one would actually do it. So where are you from, Vala?"

"Oh, I'm from Colorado," she smiled easily. "That's here on Earth. Plain human and in the correct time period to boot. Makes me pretty boring around here, really."

Pip eyes Vala suspciously. "Somehow, I can't believe that. There's no such thing as normal here at Fandom." He taps his eyepatch. "I'm keeping my lack of eye on you." He grins.

She laughs . "Well, you do that, but I'm afraid the blonde streak is about the most interesting thing about me."

Pip nods. "Suuure. Just you wait. I'll find out the truth or die trying. Unless I get bored, forget, or am distracted by something else."

She laughs again. "Oh, I quiver in fear. So, what is your deep, dark secret, then, Pip?"

Pip flinches and looks very dark for a moment. Recovering himself, he grins at Vala. "Well, I have a secret undying weakness for cats."

Vala makes a note of his reaction, but pretends she doesn't notice. "Well, she whispered leaning in a little, "I promise your secret's safe with me."

Pip sighs in relief. "Thank God. I was worried someone might find out. Then what would happen to my sexy, together, macho reputation?" he asks. He snaps his fingers. "Wait, I'm French. Never mind."

She can't help but laugh at that ~~even if she's not actually at all sure what "French" means~~. "I think your reputation will survive just fine."
