Oh, silly ethics students. You didn't think Anakin would let you get away without an exam, did you? You've had two days to recover from the potential collapse of the multiverse: that's plenty of time.

"This wasn't an exam you could really study for anyway," he said as he passed the papers out. "There are no right or wrong answers--I just want you to answer honestly and explain your reasoning." He looked around the room. "You've all done extremely well this year and I'm proud of you. Enjoy your holidays."

Which he hadn't. He'd sleep in a couple of days when he was certain he had everything under control again.

Juliet had never stopped existing, though she had noticed that her mom had hired a couple of the seemingly shunned maids back again. She tapped out emergency fashion advice texts on her phone as she watched the class gather.

You arrive home after an extended period away to discover your (hypothetical) mother has been kidnapped and presumed dead. What do you do and why?

a) Mourn and move on.
b) Brood about it constantly. Perhaps write poetry.
c) Ignore the idea that she might be dead and go after her yourself. Upon finding her remains, torch the village she was in.

If there was no chance she was alive, I would mourn and move on. If there was a chance she was alive I would go after her myself. But I wouldn't torch the village.

Petra circled 'D' and wrote, I would apply pressure to law enforcement, who have clearly dropped the ball, and utilize the media, who I'm sure would love a combination sob story and law enforcement screwup. I would cry on the evening news a lot, I'm sure. If my mother was eventually found to be dead, I would mourn her and move on (Probably I would look into joining or founding a support group for families of kidnap victims, and I might found a charitable foundation in her name. Something in the arts, maybe. She would like that.) while continuing to pressure law enforcement to bring her killers to justice.

Which would, you know, involve jail, not torching the village.

a) Rescue the kid.
b) Keep on walking. There is no moral imperative to save people and no legal obligation to try.

You're a carjacker plying your trade, and your latest victim turns out to be a martial arts expert who puts you in the hospital for a week. What do you do?

a) Take this as a warning from a higher power and find a new line of work.
b) Just find a new line of work.
c) Track the guy down and attempt to sue him for assault. Hospital bills don't pay themselves.

A rebel who has threatened to explode several bombs in crowded areas has been caught. Unfortunately, she has already planted the bombs and they are scheduled to go off in a short time. It's possible that hundreds of people may die and the authorities cannot make her divulge the location of the bombs by conventional methods. In exasperation, some high level official suggests torture. This would be illegal, of course, but the official thinks that it is nevertheless the right thing to do in this desperate situation. What do you do and why?

a) Torture her to get the information. There's no time left to be reasonable.
b) Torture her and her family to get the information. If you're going to do something illegal, might as well be really, really thorough.
c) Continue working through the the legal structure of the judicial system and hope for the best.
d) None of the above. Perhaps your dimension works differently?

As a "special honor", the authorities who have captured you and your children will let you choose one of them not to die immediately. You will never see the other one again, as the two of you remaining will be sent to languish in the spice mines of Kessel, which are not known for their low mortality rates. Do you choose your older son or your younger daughter? And how do you deal with the guilt?

a) You choose to let your son live. He's older and might survive the intense labor in the spice mines.
b) You choose to let your daughter live. She's younger--perhaps one of the other prisoners will take pity on her and assist her.
c. There is no c in this question.
