The Elements of Friendship, Thursday, Period 1

The students had all received totally handwavey instructions to come to class this morning in their pajamas -- Pinkie might not wear them herself, but she at least knew what they were -- and be prepared "for tons of fun!"

This was hopefully a sign that they wouldn't be thrown down any cliffs, but with Pinkie, it was sometimes hard to tell.

Upon entering, they'd find the Danger Shop had been configured into a cozy tree house library, with a fire place on one end of the room and a lofted sleeping area under a large circular window lining the other. Outside the window, a storm was raging.

It was a dark and stormy first period class, but at least there was hot cocoa and s'mores set up near the fire.

Pinkie came in from a side entrance when it seemed like everyone had gathered. She wore a yellow rain slicker and her umbrella hat, and shook Danger Shop rain water from her like a wet dog once she was through the door.

"Welcome back, everypony!" she said. "I hope you all had a super fantastic amazing fall break! I know I did! Wasn't the food amazing?" Pinkie had not gone on the school sponsored trip. She'd spent the entire week in town feasting on muffins. "Now that you're back, I thought this would be the perfect time to enjoy one of the great hallmarks of any friendship: the SLUMBER PARTY!" She threw her front hooves into the air, somehow setting off a rain of confetti. "Dark and gloomy times can be the best for cozying up with your favorite friends and some good party games. My friend Twilight Sparkle even loaned me one of her very favorite books to help get the class organized: Slumber Parties 101! So let's get to it!"

There's curlers and mud masks and cucumbers and spa robes! Lots of moddable makeover supplies!

Miley pulled on one of the spa robes and settled down excitedly for a makeover.

"Anyone up for a manicure exchange?" she called to her classmates, waving a bottle of sparkly orange nail polish (http://www.alllacqueredup.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/painted-nail-nubar-citrus-sparkle-nail-polish-nail-files-summer-2011.jpg) in the air.

"For me," Miley clarified. "I got, like, the world's cuest homecoming dress, so. And plus, Halloween theme!"

She took the bottle, shaking it as she looked at the colors. "You don't think the brown's a little... brown?"

She sort of really liked it, but she'd never done brown before. You must see her apprehension.

"Hmmmm." Miley tilted her head, pondering the limitless opportunities for questions. "Who are you going with to the Homecoming dance?"

Because that wasn't forward or invasive or anything.

That actually wasn't bad at all. Chuck was not going to complain.

"Uh, so far... myself." Embarassing, possibly, that Chuck sucked hard at that whole talking to girls thing, when it came to asking them to dances. But otherwise... He'd take that.

"Do I ask back at this point?" Truth and dare wasn't Chuck's strong suit. Maybe there was a secret girl order to the asking in these things.

It didn't look like anyone else was jumping out of their seat to ask her something at this point, so Miley shrugged. "Go for it," she offered.

Hmm. Should she turn on the charm? Maybe just a little.

There was eyelash-batting, Chuck. Be afraid.

"Hmmmmmm." Miley pondered. The classroom environment made dares kind of difficult. "I dare you to... I don't know. Sing something?"

Of course that was the first thing she thought of.

"Um, no?" Miley laughed. "Sorry. I'm boring. And hoarding all the nail polish remover for myself, just in case."

Chuck was avoiding the makeovers and was bad with scary stories, so... lots of cushions it was. He was great with those. A pillow fort king.

... Or something.

That would be his story, anyway.

And Chuck would not notice in time to duck. His coordination wasn't the best anyway.

So yeah, it bounced right off him.

"What the-- Hey... I always thought you were one of the good ones!" Ruining her reputation with pillows. Tsk. It didn't hurt and he was grinning, so she wasn't ruining it too badly, apparently.
