The Elements of Friendship, Thursday, Period 1

The students had all received totally handwavey instructions to come to class this morning in their pajamas -- Pinkie might not wear them herself, but she at least knew what they were -- and be prepared "for tons of fun!"

This was hopefully a sign that they wouldn't be thrown down any cliffs, but with Pinkie, it was sometimes hard to tell.

Upon entering, they'd find the Danger Shop had been configured into a cozy tree house library, with a fire place on one end of the room and a lofted sleeping area under a large circular window lining the other. Outside the window, a storm was raging.

It was a dark and stormy first period class, but at least there was hot cocoa and s'mores set up near the fire.

Pinkie came in from a side entrance when it seemed like everyone had gathered. She wore a yellow rain slicker and her umbrella hat, and shook Danger Shop rain water from her like a wet dog once she was through the door.

"Welcome back, everypony!" she said. "I hope you all had a super fantastic amazing fall break! I know I did! Wasn't the food amazing?" Pinkie had not gone on the school sponsored trip. She'd spent the entire week in town feasting on muffins. "Now that you're back, I thought this would be the perfect time to enjoy one of the great hallmarks of any friendship: the SLUMBER PARTY!" She threw her front hooves into the air, somehow setting off a rain of confetti. "Dark and gloomy times can be the best for cozying up with your favorite friends and some good party games. My friend Twilight Sparkle even loaned me one of her very favorite books to help get the class organized: Slumber Parties 101! So let's get to it!"

"Hmmmm." Miley tilted her head, pondering the limitless opportunities for questions. "Who are you going with to the Homecoming dance?"

Because that wasn't forward or invasive or anything.

That actually wasn't bad at all. Chuck was not going to complain.

"Uh, so far... myself." Embarassing, possibly, that Chuck sucked hard at that whole talking to girls thing, when it came to asking them to dances. But otherwise... He'd take that.

"Do I ask back at this point?" Truth and dare wasn't Chuck's strong suit. Maybe there was a secret girl order to the asking in these things.

It didn't look like anyone else was jumping out of their seat to ask her something at this point, so Miley shrugged. "Go for it," she offered.

Hmm. Should she turn on the charm? Maybe just a little.

There was eyelash-batting, Chuck. Be afraid.

He had no clue what to do with eyelash batting charm. Noooo clue at all.

So. Uh. "Truth or dare?"

Well. Miley normally chose dare -- she pretty much had to, what with having a massive secret that the world could never ever find out about ever -- but she couldn't see how any dare done in this classroom would be even remotely interesting, so.

"Truth?"

"Okay. Uh--" Where to go with this. He couldn't just parrot back her own question, because wow unoriginal, and didn't want to get too invasive, simply because he was a decent sort of guy, so...

"If you could have one thing right now, what?" Answers could be anything, from as trivial as 'ice cream' to 'world peace' now, couldn't they?

"Huh." She actually had to consider that for a second. Then the answer came to her. "These Gucci boots I saw in LA," she replied with certainty. "They're like a chocolate brown with fringes on the top... totally cute."

Because that was likely to be fascinating to Chuck.

"Okay, your turn. Truth or dare?"

"I... think I'm going to be boring and stick with the truth," Chuck decided. "Usually pretty safe." He wasn't a big risk taker when it came to these things. The wuss. "So uh, truth."

He could just have said 'truth'.

"And I will take your word for it on the boots." Because yeah, he had no concept of the cuteness of boots with fringes.

Truths could be dangerous too! Just... apparently not with the two of them. Shocker.

"How about..." Huh. "Favorite color?"

Lame.

"You know, I probably would've told you that one with or without the truth or dare scenario going on," he told her, a small grin blooming.

"I'm... honestly not that secretive." He was the rare sort of boy who was all open about his feelings and wanted to chat about all things.

He was a weird one, yeah.

"Um, but blue. I like blue things."

"Blue's a good color," Miley offered, smiling back at him. And now the eyelash-batting was back in force. Lucky, lucky Chuck.

"Right. Yes. I... think so," he agreed with a small smile. Chuck? Still not entirely used to being flirted with despite having known Ariel as long as he had. You'd think he'd have it down at least a little.

"... I guess no one else is into this game." Since no one appeared to be jumping in yet. "Which is weird, because I'm kind of getting into it, I think."

"In for a truth or a dare this time?"
