BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

The world isn't going to end with my first official post.

Topher? Was not excited for today.

And yet here he was, fresh from LAX, dragging non-wheely luggage across the floor. He sank down into a chair, kicking his duffel into footrest distance.

"You getting shipped off too?" he asked the girl a few seats away.

Backpack with his few meager belongings slung over one shoulder, Toby had just been sort of wandering aimlessly when he came across a door marked "Portalocity". Curiousity basically overrode sense at that point, because it seemed like no one else was even aware of the door's existence. So, of course, he had to check it out... And found himself in what looked like a waiting area of some sort. "Um," he managed intelligently. "Hi?"

"Fandom High?" Angelica said, giving Topher a nervous smile. "I'm spending part of the summer there."

Kate had slept... about as well as you could expect for someone who'd spent the past ten hours on what was best described as a speeding land-raft, and looked like it. Ley travel was not exactly luxurious.

Which is really to say, 'she looked cranky'.

Or she did, until she dumped her bag on the ground, and stared out at the airplanes, when her irritation subsided a little in favor of perplexed, and a murmured, "What the--"

Angelica looked up from her book. "Hi," she said shyly. "Are you looking for the bus to Fandom?"

"You're kidding me, there's a summer option?" Topher complained, throwing his head back in dramatic frustration. "I got lifer status."

"Man, I hate airlines," Sam grumbled as she dragged her busted up wheelie suitcase into the shuttle waiting area. "Should have gotten a lift from Freight Dog, again." She was possibly the only person in the history of ever to say such a thing. She plopped herself down on a clear spot of floor and pulled a fat cake from her suitcase, eying up the others in the waiting area as she unwrapped it.

Oh, hey, fat cakes! Well, that made it a little better!

"Hey," Topher said, leaning forward in Sam's direction. "Lemme get one?"

Look at that, he was being social!

Sam eyed him suspiciously, clutching her fat cake to her chest before a little voice -- that sounded suspiciously like Carly -- reminded her that she might want to actually try making friends. Also, that she possibly had more fat cakes packed than underwear.

"Yeah, okay. But just this once." She pulled another cake from her suitcase and offered it over. "Then you have to find your own."

... Was he? Well, why not? "Yeah, sure," he said with a shrug. He had wanted to move on, after all.

"Could find my own," he said, accepting the proffered cake. "Buried under about a hundred wires in there." He jerked his head in the direction of his duffel.

Clearly not worth the effort, when he could have one handed to him.

Jack approached the shuttle lounge with a sense of trepidation.

"High school," he muttered to himself. "Oh, yeah. This is going to end well."

"You packed wires?" Sam said, a clear smirk in her voice. "Don't tell me, you're an AV club kinda guy."

"Um, hi?" Angelica said, looking over at the girl. "Are you okay?"

Simon was standing a little further away from the main crowd, bag in hand, watching everyone else but making sure not to stare at anyone, even as he wondered whether they'd all been affected by a storm like he had, and what they could possibly do.

He straightened the collar of his shirt and tried not to look quite as nervous as he was feeling. He wasn't very successful.

"You didn't want to come here, either?" Angelica said. "I don't know much about the school. But I didn't want to leave my old school."

"Guilty as charged."

He sized her up, overlooking the obvious smirky disdain. "And you're not." Then, a beat. "Not a cheerleader, either, which is at least a couple points."

Topher shrugged. "Oh, I wanted to leave," he informed Angelica. "For an all-expenses-paid tour of Europe or a beach house or something." He kicked his feet up on his duffel and concluded, "Sucks, huh?"

"Only when we do our 'cheerleaders in space' sketches. Then I tempt people to the dark side of the cheerleading force." Yeah, she kind of just assumed he'd know what she was talking about. Someone was getting used to being recognized.

Ragnor Fell's portal had landed her inside security so Jocelyn didn't worry about problems with the weapons that took up a portion of her suitcase and were stashed inside her coat. She was feeling a little bit nervous about her clothes though. The long green velvet coat and dress underneath drew more stares from the traveling mundies than she was comfortable with. Mundies didn't usually notice her, but she'd been forbidden from using glamours for this trip. Stupid rule.

She pushed her way into the Portalocity lounge, surveying the other students there with some measure of interest as she found a seat. The door to Portalocity itself seemed to be glamoured in some odd way. What made these kids special to be able to see it?

"Hey" was the quiet greeting as Jocelyn took a seat, her boots up on the suitcase.

"I'm hoping it'll end in tears, personally," Sam said cheerfully. She kind of just assumed people around her were talking to her when they spoke.

"Uh."

Now, Topher was a closet web show watcher, yes, but unfortunately that was restricted to those web shows that existed in his dimension. So, you know. Not iCarly.

"Sketches?"
