BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

Backpack with his few meager belongings slung over one shoulder, Toby had just been sort of wandering aimlessly when he came across a door marked "Portalocity". Curiousity basically overrode sense at that point, because it seemed like no one else was even aware of the door's existence. So, of course, he had to check it out... And found himself in what looked like a waiting area of some sort. "Um," he managed intelligently. "Hi?"

... Was he? Well, why not? "Yeah, sure," he said with a shrug. He had wanted to move on, after all.

"So I'm in the right place, then," Toby grinned. "Good to know. Toby Logan, by the way."

Mercy gave him a half-hearted smile and wave. "You getting shipped off, too?"

"Shipped off? Yeah. You could say that." it would be more accurate to say he was shopping himself off, but that was really just a minor detail.

"Sounds like an okay place, though," Mercy admitted. At least there was lots of wooded area.

[ooc: Eee! Tiny phone internets is hard! No worries!]

"Yeah? I haven't heard that much about it," Toby admitted, giving the girl an encouraging smile that he hoped would prompt her to reveal whatever else she knew about this Fandom place, either out loud or in her thoughts.

"Hi!" Alex said cheerfully. "If you're looking for Fandom High, you're in the right place. Well, this isn't the actual school. I think. That would be weird."

School? Aw, man. Toby suddenly wasn't so sure if this impulse decision was such a great one after all. Oh well. They'd probably figure out he wasn't supposed to be here and stop him from getting on the bus, so there really wasn't any harm in pretending for now, was there?

"Well, you know. Could be one of those fancy new alternative schools or whatever," he said with a shrug.

"Actually I'm pretty sure it is." Deadpool, what. "But the brochure had like a castle thing."

"Castle thing?" Toby echoed. "What, like Disney World?"

Stan managed a vague wave back at him. "Hey."

"Is for horses," Toby shot back reflexively. Blame the six months spent living with a grade one teacher for that one, Stan.

"And kindergarteners," Stan replied dryly.

"Hi!" Butters responded back, all beams and smiles. Because, gosh darn it, when someone said hi, it was just polite to say hi back!

"So, Fandom, huh?" Toby said, in a tone that was very much meant to give the impression that he belonged here with all these other kids being shipped off to... summer school or camp or whatever-the-hell.

Re: Wait for the Shuttle! [5/7/11]

[identity profile] geewhizfellas.livejournal.com 2011-05-07 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Yup," said Butters, adopting very much the same tone. Or at least attempting to. "Good ol' Fandom. Boy, I sure can't wait to get there, how about you?"

[identity profile] godgavemecable.livejournal.com 2011-05-07 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah," Toby nodded. "Ever since I heard about the place," you know, five minutes ago, "I've been looking forward to it."

"Hey, you want anything at Starbucks?" Marshall asked, pen and pad at the ready.

"Coffee shop," Marshall explained, not even fazed at this point by someone not being familiar with it. "Hot chocolate, froufy hipster drinks, that kinda stuff. I'm doing a run downstairs."

Re: Wait for the Shuttle! [5/7/11]

[identity profile] godgavemecable.livejournal.com 2011-05-07 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, if Toby paid more attention to things like coffee shops, he might've even been aware of the fact that Toronto circa 1996 actually had a handful of Starbucks locations.

"Coffee?" Toby still looked a little puzzled by the idea. "No thanks. But... I'll take a Coke?" A pause, and then: "...if you're buying," he added, in the interest of honesty. He wasn't above taking advantage of people in the name of not going hungry, but the other kid just seemed so nice, he didn't want to mislead him into thinking he'd be able to pay him back.
