So You Say You Want a Revolution: Week 2, Period 3

"You all found your way back," Aly said with a teasing smile as the bell rang for the class to begin. "I'd be impressed, but I've met Fandom students before."

"Before we start, I'd like to introduce my TAs for this term - Ino Yamanaka, Rinoa Heartilly, Percy Jackson, and Nico di Angelo. Four isn't usual, I know, but we're trying something new this time around. I'd like each of the TAs to head up a small group of their classmates. When we work in teams or have small discussions, that's the group you'll be with."

She went to flip over the whiteboard to show the groups she'd set up.

Aly glanced at the groups then back at the class. "If you hate who you're with, talk to me and - yeah, never mind. If you hate who you're with, deal with it. You don't always get to work with your friends when planning a revolution. Pull your desks together, and spend some time getting to know each other if you don't already.

"Last week we talked about the reasons why you personally would rebel against a government. What I'd like you to do today is to stay in the small groups and talk about why you - as a group - would rebel against something. You can look at it seriously or rebel against mandatory cheerleading uniforms for the whole school, but remember, revolutions aren't put together by one person. It's always a group effort. So today, let's start with that."

Luke was so grateful not to be stuck in a group with Percy, considering the fact that he still looked like he had been in a fight and Percy looked perfectly fine. Should be easy to ignore him.

He did feel bad for Jason though.

When Percy glanced over at Luke and saw him still looking a little worse for wear, he almost felt bad. A part of him got a little thrill out of it but he wasn't going to let that show.

"What's a TA do?" he asked, deciding not to draw attention immediately how rough Luke looked.

Jason would have been glad Luke felt bad for him, because he felt pretty bad too. Maybe he could just talk to the other people in his group, and pretend Percy didn't exist.

Makita sulked a bit that she wasn't with Proto, but it wasn't the first time they'd been assigned to different strike groups, and this wouldn't be the last.

Nico wasn't going to beam that he had Luke in his group. Or that he was part of this TA thing (even if Percy was, too, sigh). No, he was going to play it off like this was just another day in his life and try not to bounce.

Percy...didn't even know why he'd come to class today. It was stupid to feel jealous of Nico and Luke being together but he did because he was...a little stupid.

He pursed his lips though and decided to try and make the best of whatever was going to happen. If Jason was a jerk, he'd just be a jerk right back. Not the best plan of action but he was so tired of that face stealer.

Cloud was okay with his group. He was pretty sure he would be fine with whatever group he had gotten into, actually.

Ooooh, a TA! Rinoa was way too excited by that prospect. And she glanced around the room, trying to pick out her team members. She didn't think she knew any of them!

Get to know your groups and determine why - as a group - you would rebel against something.

Feel totally free to make the threads messy or to comment on other group's ideas, etc. Aly's not going to be upset at using the group as a jumping off point. She will be upset if it's not kept civil.

And you so don't have to wait for the TA character to make a thread to start chatting.

Luke had what he thought was a perfectly good reason to rebel, but he wasn't exactly comfortable sharing it with Nico around. It was one thing to speak ill of the gods, but it was another to talk about overthrowing them. So he sat quietly while waiting for his group to assemble and tried to think of a different idea.

Still playing it cool, Nico joined the group he was assigned to and nodded at Luke. "What do you say to rebelling against our current town government for the lack of a decent burger? Pushing it too far?"

Kyle knew Proto from Battles class in the Fall, Leda from the Fifth Floor and Practical Weaponry, and Cara from being Cara. The only person he didn't know in his group was Rinoa. He stood up and grabbed his desk, looking out for the others so he could drag the desk over to join the group.

Percy so was not going to pout or glare in the direction of another group. He had his head down on his notebook, thoughts whirring about the actual discussion.

Discussion facilitator was not an assignment Nico was used to taking on, but if Percy Jackson could do it, Nico needed to try to do it better.

Percy didn't even know what a TA was supposed to do. He didn't even know why he'd been chosen. He could only guess it was because he'd blown things up but it was a guess.

Still, he wasn't going to act like he was some awkward kid. He'd grown out of that stage no matter what anyone else said.

Ino was a bit... dubious about her group, to say the least.

But still, that was no reason for her to complain--in fact, Aly had said not to--so she was twirling a pen around in one hand as she contemplated the fact that she had just been given license to talk to everyone ever.

That was a good thing.
