Library [03/07]

It was just another day in the library, damn it.

Jono had heard the radio last night, yes, and he was well aware that the entire island had gone absolutely barking mad, but, come hell or high water, he was going to do his best to make certain that today was just another day in the library, damn it.

... Mostly, this involved playing Farmville.

"Something weird is going on," Jak announced, padding into the library with a dubious look on his face. At least his roommate was normal.

Yeah, Haven wasn't exactly much for sane, either.

Jak shook his head. "I hope it wears off by the end of the weekend," he said, leaning over Jono's desk.

Jak... winced. It seemed sympathetic, at the time.

"Yeah," he said. Sympathetically. Jono spoke fluid Guy, he'd get the gist. "So it's been a weird couple of weeks."

Awkward segue, man, but he'd been putting off talking to Jono about... girls. And Keira. And stuff. And-- well, he wasn't much of a talker in general, so he wasn't sure how 'getting things off your chest' really worked anyway.

It was a good distraction from the craziness of the weekend?

Davy wasn't going to let any short English guy with a nebulous accent tell him where he was supposed to be and what he was supposed to do.

If "they" were after him, "they" could come and find him. Or something. He jumped into the library, glanced at the shelves, then jumped to a different section.

And then to another different section.

"I'm looking for books on travel," Davy said. "This library is huge."

"The library rearranges itself?" Davy replied. "Are you sure it's not just someone coming in at night?"

Which was somehow the cue for Jean to show up.

Yes, in a damned blaze of glory and psychokinetic fire. Because she was just that dramatic.

Or it was how things worked when you were the goddamn Phoenix.

Well at least she wasn't a whore. A goddamn whore.

"Hello, Jonothon."

"I'm here for the weekend, like so many others, it seems," Jean replied, walking over to the nearest row of books to touch the spines.

She might have been in earlier, but Death had places to be, things to, do ... people to creep out.

She walked up to the counter and leaned there, impassively watching Jono for a moment. She had a vague feeling of some connection to him.

"Hello, Jonothon."

Gaping was perfectly acceptable to Death.

"Death," she supplied. "You forgot me?"

She made a noise that would be tongue-clucking, except it wasn't entirely clear that she had a tongue.

That seemed to please Death, as she preened and smoothed her robes over those unusually ample breasts. "I am fond of it, thank you."

"What were you doing today?"
