Practical Weaponry [Wednesday, Period Four]

The class was back in the Danger Shop this week, which was set up to resemble a high-class dinner party. Resplendent in a perfectly tailored dinner jacket, Bond was there to greet them.

"There are some situations that a person cannot go into with a weapon," he said, gesturing around the spacious ballroom. "For example, many diplomatic situations, or high-class casinos, or the like, have weapons detectors, and highly trained security staff. However, that does not necessarily mean that you will go in unarmed.

"Apart from any training you may have in unarmed training, you have your wits, and your clothes. In a situation such as this, your choice of clothing can be If you look like you belong, you will be unlikely to attract much notice. If you're working in a team, having your partner wearing a stunning couture dress can distract your enemies at a vital moment." Or leave you distracted at a vital moment, it could backfire sometimes. Not that Bond was going to mention that. "In a pinch, a stiletto heel can be quite a potent weapon indeed."

Bond gestured to an unassuming door. "There is a wardrobe with suitable clothing and footwear through there, and changing stalls," he said. "You will outfit yourselves in a manner befitting this party, and spent the rest of the class mingling and getting information on various party guests, as well as looking out for any fixtures in the room that could be used as weapons. If you have trouble choosing an outfit, I will be happy to help."

Once the students had entered the wardrobe to choose their outfits, they would have noticed that it was filled with stunning couture dresses in every style, fabric, and colour imaginable. After a few more minutes they would have noticed that there wasn't a single suit in sight.

After all, it was unfair to only expect the girls to wear spike heels.

First obvious weapon was a champagne glass. Which was why Rose snagged one from one of the waiters before looking around for someone to talk to.

Rose was - totally disappointed the dude wasn't wearing a skirt. "It's certainly, um, a colourful one," she agreed.

Rose followed his gaze, and who the hell brought a cat to a party? "Are they fighting over who gets to bring the kitty home?"

She thought she was funnier than she really was.

Tybalt didn't seem to mind terribly as he stepped out into the ballroom, dressed... colourfully, really. And to top it off, he was rocking that stiletto heel.

He knew he had more legs than a bucket of chicken, and yes, he was just fine with flaunting it. So long as the other boys in the class were doing the same.

And it was a very handsome lizard, at that.

"Not the first, good sir, and not likely to be the last." Tybalt couldn't help but notice that this particular gentleman wasn't quite in the spirit of the exercise, no. "I am of noble birth, after all. Such functions are simply the way of things, from whence I hail."

"Sadly, no, sir," Tybalt replied, remembering the point of the assignment.

He could probably throw the lizard at someone, if the situation called for it.

"T'would seem that my ensemble begs more time to don than I'd anticipated. An unfortunate truth, alas, that such preparations saw me coming in too late for all of the good gossip. Perhaps thou might be so kind as to enlighten me, good sir?"

Heaven above help him, he was batting his eyelashes.

Dinah had picked out a gorgeous gown (http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod40740028&parentId=cat285305&masterId=cat276901&index=37&cmCat=cat000000cat000002cat000009cat80001cat265908cat276901cat285305) and was now counting candlesticks, wine bottles, and her own spike heels as weapons.

Dinah turned around to see a really cute guy in a great suit. "Oh, thanks!" She grinned at him, and held out her hand. "That's so nice of you. I'm Dinah Lance."

"Gustav," Dinah repeated, then gestured around the room. "Do you come to a lot of these parties? This is my first one." She didn't think she could pull off 'sophisticated and blase'' but hey, maybe he'd tell her more about himself that way anywa.

With a look of cool collection that fitted nicely with her dress (http://www.bluefly.com/Tadashi-lagoon-gree-chiffon-side-ruffle-strapless-dress/SEARCH/304021602/detail.fly), Turtle was scoping out the area and potential spots and personas of interest.

You know, with all the welcome picnics she's been to since being here for almost four years, it was definitely fun to get to take the role of a newbie for a change, so long as the played it right. Turtle gave a bright smile back, conveying all the enthusiasm of an ignorant amateur. "Right. And, wow, it's incredible. You must have been to so many of these that it's all pretty boring by now, huh?"

Leda seemed to be wavering between the Leda her classmates all know and love, and someone altogether different.

Leda gave no indication that there was anything unusual about the hand. "Why thank you." she said with a charming, if slightly haughty smile. "I was beginning to wonder if there were any gentlemen here."
