Practical Weaponry [Wednesday, Period Four]
The class was back in the Danger Shop this week, which was set up to resemble a high-class dinner party. Resplendent in a perfectly tailored dinner jacket, Bond was there to greet them.
"There are some situations that a person cannot go into with a weapon," he said, gesturing around the spacious ballroom. "For example, many diplomatic situations, or high-class casinos, or the like, have weapons detectors, and highly trained security staff. However, that does not necessarily mean that you will go in unarmed.
"Apart from any training you may have in unarmed training, you have your wits, and your clothes. In a situation such as this, your choice of clothing can be If you look like you belong, you will be unlikely to attract much notice. If you're working in a team, having your partner wearing a stunning couture dress can distract your enemies at a vital moment." Or leave you distracted at a vital moment, it could backfire sometimes. Not that Bond was going to mention that. "In a pinch, a stiletto heel can be quite a potent weapon indeed."
Bond gestured to an unassuming door. "There is a wardrobe with suitable clothing and footwear through there, and changing stalls," he said. "You will outfit yourselves in a manner befitting this party, and spent the rest of the class mingling and getting information on various party guests, as well as looking out for any fixtures in the room that could be used as weapons. If you have trouble choosing an outfit, I will be happy to help."
Once the students had entered the wardrobe to choose their outfits, they would have noticed that it was filled with stunning couture dresses in every style, fabric, and colour imaginable. After a few more minutes they would have noticed that there wasn't a single suit in sight.
After all, it was unfair to only expect the girls to wear spike heels.

Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"I must say, that is a gorgeous dress you're wearing," said a blond man wearing a very expensive looking suit. "It's wonderful to find a woman with good taste at one of these events."
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"Call me Gustav," he said, smiling and taking her hand.
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"I'm relatively new to the business, but I've been to my fair share," Gustav replied. "I'm actually hosting the next one."
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"In my ice hotel," Gustav replied. He wasn't joking. "I'm afraid, I don't know Rosa very well, she's very intimating."
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"Actually, I'm into diamonds," he said. "The ice hotel is just for fun."
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"Where else but Iceland?" Gustav thought himself incredibly funny.
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
She could throw that bodyguard through a window, did that count as a weapon?
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Not really, but who was going to argue with a good round of defenestration.
"Where I'm from isn't important," Gustav said, waving off the question. "But rather, where does a lovely young woman such as yourself hail from?"
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
unlike Eliot Spencer. "It's in New Jersey. America, obviously. My sister owns Wayne Enterprises." Totally true, although Helena couldn't be bothered to run it. "She's paying for my trip around the world as a graduation present."See! Implying she was way older than she was! The height helped a little. Hopefully. And why wouldn't he say where he was from? Hmm. Nom. Shrimp puff.
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"I'm afraid I haven't," Gustav replied. "Pray, tell me more, it sounds most intriguing."
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"What about satellites?" Gustav asked. "I'm looking into finding a company that produces them."
For no untoward reason whatsoever.
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"I love to dance," Gustav replied holding out his hand. "Shall we?"
"My company is looking into weather satellites to help extend growing seasons," he explained. "Giving a little something back to the world."
Not to produce any giant beams of firey death, no, that would be silly.
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Very very silly. So silly, Gustav would fit in just fine in Gotham City!
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
"There are so many people with so little," Gustav said. "It only makes sense that those of us with a lot should try to even the score."
And Dinah hadn't even met his bodyguard yet! He was the one with the all diamonds sticking out of his face. Horrible accident that.
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Awww, poor bodyguard! Two-Face would totally sympathize with him, and buy him a drink!
Re: Mingle - PW [Week 5]
Nonsense, bringing the world to heel under his thumb was nothing but philanthropic. Really. "Indeed I do, Dinah," Gustav said. "Indeed I do."
