Practical Weaponry [Wednesday, Period Four]

The class was back in the Danger Shop this week, which was set up to resemble a high-class dinner party. Resplendent in a perfectly tailored dinner jacket, Bond was there to greet them.

"There are some situations that a person cannot go into with a weapon," he said, gesturing around the spacious ballroom. "For example, many diplomatic situations, or high-class casinos, or the like, have weapons detectors, and highly trained security staff. However, that does not necessarily mean that you will go in unarmed.

"Apart from any training you may have in unarmed training, you have your wits, and your clothes. In a situation such as this, your choice of clothing can be If you look like you belong, you will be unlikely to attract much notice. If you're working in a team, having your partner wearing a stunning couture dress can distract your enemies at a vital moment." Or leave you distracted at a vital moment, it could backfire sometimes. Not that Bond was going to mention that. "In a pinch, a stiletto heel can be quite a potent weapon indeed."

Bond gestured to an unassuming door. "There is a wardrobe with suitable clothing and footwear through there, and changing stalls," he said. "You will outfit yourselves in a manner befitting this party, and spent the rest of the class mingling and getting information on various party guests, as well as looking out for any fixtures in the room that could be used as weapons. If you have trouble choosing an outfit, I will be happy to help."

Once the students had entered the wardrobe to choose their outfits, they would have noticed that it was filled with stunning couture dresses in every style, fabric, and colour imaginable. After a few more minutes they would have noticed that there wasn't a single suit in sight.

After all, it was unfair to only expect the girls to wear spike heels.

[ooc: wait for ocd up.]

"Ice hotel, whoa." Dinah didn't have to fake being impressed when she actually was. Rosa, Rosa, hmm. "Seriously? Is that, um, your job? I mean, you own hotels?" Ditzy blonde, she could do. Also hey, that buffet table was a weapon, if she smacked it into someone hard enough.

"Diamonds," Dinah gushed. "Oooooo." Way, way too much fun, going to parties and meeting guys who were into diamonds. She heard herself, and tried not to facepalm. "Okay, that sounded shallow. But seriously, that's so cool!" She grinned. "As cool as ice hotels. Where is it, that it's cold enough you can build one of those, Gustav?"

Dinah snickered, anyway. "Ice hotel in Iceland. Are there diamonds in Iceland?" she wondered. "That's where you're from, right?"

She could throw that bodyguard through a window, did that count as a weapon?

"New Gotham City, have you heard of it?" Dinah asked, taking an hors' doevre from the tray, and realizing no, she was not good enough to use it as a weapon unlike Eliot Spencer. "It's in New Jersey. America, obviously. My sister owns Wayne Enterprises." Totally true, although Helena couldn't be bothered to run it. "She's paying for my trip around the world as a graduation present."

See! Implying she was way older than she was! The height helped a little. Hopefully. And why wouldn't he say where he was from? Hmm. Nom. Shrimp puff.

Tell as much of the truth as possible, right? "I'm not really sure what I want to do with myself, so that's why I'm on this trip. Helena's company owns corporate apartments in all the cities I'm visiting, so I just crash there. Rome and London so far, and I was thinking maybe Tokyo? Except now I want to stay at your hotel, too." Dinah smiled hopefully. "Wayne Enterprises does research and development for technology. I don't understand it all, but they make cool motorcycles. And planes." Also true. Just not getting into the making Batmobiles or really awesome weaponry for crimefighters.

"Umm, I think so?" Would he be at all distracted by her cleavage? Sadly, Dinah knew there wasn't really enough there for that. So she dragged one leg to the side, and sent the dance floor a wistful look. "Helena was saying something about ... what was it? Oh! More stable ones that would be easier to program." She totally hadn't. Barbara had, though. Now, why did Gustav want a satellite if he was into diamonds. "Do you like to dance?"

"That's so cool. Or warming," Dinah said, taking his hand and moving with him onto the dance floor. He might be a bad guy, or a good guy, but he was definitely a suspicious guy. "So, the satellites would warm things up, like in Canada? Or Russia? So they could grow more, longer. Smart!"

Very very silly. So silly, Gustav would fit in just fine in Gotham City!

'Even the score' was a weird way to put it. More like revenge than philanthropy. "It does! We were part of a charity fashion show last year. Proceeds to women's shelters," Dinah said, playing airhead debutante for all she was worth. Then again, maybe Gustav didn't like women who were too dumb. "I really want to find something worthwhile to do," she said confidingly. "I mean, when you're lucky enough to not need to work, it has to mean more, doesn't it?" She beamed at Gustav. "But you get that."

Awww, poor bodyguard! Two-Face would totally sympathize with him, and buy him a drink!
