The Library
Janet unlocked the library and walked in, setting her laptop down warily behind the desk and trying not to think about Hathor the last time she was in here. She took a drink from her extra-large mug of coffee and started working.
ETA: She popped out a moment later and stuck a note up on the door: "New teachers need to check out the Rules of Conduct and fill out a library card applicationin blue or black ink, damn it. Please come inside for a form. Thank you."

Because I can't even imagine what he's going to be able to do once he's got both hands working."no subject
Just take it to your room. Or give us some notice, so we can find somewhere else to sleep that night" She winksno subject
Ack! I'm so sorry about that! I owe you Godiva. This having a roommate thing completely stinks--there's just no privacy."no subject
Mmm... Godiva. It wasn't that much of a problem as you weren't involved all night long. Janet and I were fine together in the common room. And yes, it does stink"no subject
Thanks. We'll try and keep that in-room stuff to a minimum.(no subject)

Yes. Just warn us. We won't gossip too much in your hearing."no subject
No, because we'd never gossip about friends. Reallyno subject
I'm a scientist and I don't even organize things that much."(no subject)

Sam almost started humming, but caught herself in time. She'd never, ever hear the end of it.

"I...knew that.
And there's no way I was so giddy that I was a complete bonehead and showed up to shop class a week early. At all!Oh, and I'm sorry for throwing you out of your room last night...um, I'll make it up to you, promise."no subject
"Okay," she said, unable to stop grinning at Sam. "
You didn't! Oh, well. Hopefully no one saw you. It's fine, you know. We could have stayed and made things awkward then, or we could have left. We just did our homework in the common room, that's all."no subject
"Of course I did, Janet. Can you imagine me making this up? Oh, yeah, I met the new shop teacher, who bought some kind of alien force field on Ebay. I got to help him put it up (but he wouldn't let me take anything apart, darn it).""I just feel a little goofy about this--I mean, for once there's nothing to stand in our way...it feels a little weird. Plus, well, I haven't seen him today, and now I'm worried that I'm being this big, giddy dork and he doesn't even..." She started to hyperventilate and had to sit down.

"Well, of course it feels weird," said Janet. She put her arm around Sam and gave her a reassuring hug. "I mean, you've known him
for nine years nowforever. And you know Jack. He's never been one to wear his emotions openly. There is no way I will ever forget the look on his face when he said he cares about you a lot more than he's supposed to, and that was not an 'I care about you' look.Giddy is understandable coming from you. If I ever saw Jack acting giddy I'd wonder if he were on drugs.""Sam." Janet crouched in front of the chair Sam's sitting in. "Breathe."
