Library [10.09]

Karal arrived at the library with a purpose this morning. He had a class...very soon, actually, but there was time to find a book.

An important book, considering he had no idea what physics was and it seemed to be an integral part of the aforementioned class.

The book was easily found but, sadly, not so easily read. The moment he checked it out, it transformed into a kitten and a box. With a single inscrutable look, the kitten climbed into the box, pulled the lid shut behind it and, as far as Karal could tell, ceased to exist.

"...what?"

Altra rolled his eyes, sniffed, and replied, :I have no idea.:

He thought about opening the box, just to see if the kitten was all right, but sensed that this might be a bad idea.

[ooc: Kitten books YAY!]

Katchoo wandered into the stacks, spent a little time browsing, and eventually left with what -- for now -- was a battered paperback novel whose title, if anyone could see it around her hand, was Elegant Waste. Unlike the one she'd left behind when she'd left Houston two years ago, she actually checked this copy out, though . . . she wasn't taking any chances in a library in Fandom.

Gavin stopped in before his class, wondering if Karal would be as jumpy as John when he showed up.

That, of course, meant he was smiling when he walked in the door.

"What?" Gavin asked, coming up towards the desk. "No hug for me?"

Tony brought in his Art of War notes and handouts and was looking for a table to study with Myn. He paused at the front desk to watch the kittens. "Do they live in here?" he asked.

"I thought it was students that turned into animals?"

"Hi, Tony," Myn said, a little breathless. He eyed the kittens. "Is there a kitten infestation going on?"

"They're the books," Tony said casually, as if that were normal.

Because he thought it would be fun, John carried his own kitten into the library. The difference was, his had never been a book and she was not particularly happy. Or at least she wouldn't be later. So long as he was scritching behind her ears there were no complaints of being carted about.

"Looks like you've got your own kittens to deal with," John remarked quietly, not wanting to disturb Karal's kittens.

Saturday? John wouldn't know what Karal was talking about even if it did come up.

"No..." John looked down at the kitten. "This is Jaina. Meow hello to Karal, Jaina." The kitten looked at him with a pointed glare as though he was an idiot for asking her to meow for anything ever. "She's not very happy today."

OMG, I love you for choosing both the books and the physics experiment.
