Library [02/11]

Sam was not at all late omg hoping for a quiet morning as he went in to open the library. He had a lot of research and homework he wanted to get done before the day was through.

After lunch, it was right back to the research.

"Hey," Sam said, perking up a little. "You're getting me even more addicted to caffeine than I already am. Not that that's a bad thing, I think."

"Damn." Peter pretended to look regretful. "I was hoping to get you addicted to fried sugar. I'm gonna have to start all over again, aren't I?"

"If that means you're going to keep visiting me here, then yes, you do," Sam replied.

"I dunno," Peter said, giving Sam a doubtful look. "I'm not sure I like you. Besides, you're ruining my reputation."

Of course he said this while handing over the coffee and donuts.

"Brooke thinks I'm a geek," Peter said. He leaned against the counter as he sipped his coffee. "That's gotta be your fault."

Sam laughed. "Since I don't think I've ever even met Brooke, I'm pretty sure that's not my fault."

"Clearly your reputation proceeds you," Peter replied. Though he was grinning. "God knows I'm not the one giving off geek vibes."

"Maybe supreme geekiness is my super power, and you picked it up unknowingly," Sam said. "Have you felt the strange desire to do reading that has nothing to do with your classes?"

"Damn, no good then," Peter said. "Man I am striking out all over the place."

"I hate to tell you, but striking out is a side effect of being a geek," Sam said.

Peter grinned, glad that Sam hadn't gone emo in his reaction. "Well I didn't say I was trying to kill myself. More like I was bored."

"Is she the one who was on the radio making up lies about everyone last week?" Sam asked.

"You know 'female, on radio, and saying untrue things' doesn't narrow it down by a whole bunch," Peter teased. "But yeah, she does Wednesdays."

Sam couldn't help the urge to give Peter his puppy eyes. "But I'm a good geek. My research knowledge is helpful and everything."
