Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

He wasn't entirely certain if it was spelled right, but that was all right, because he was fairly certain he wasn't pronouncing it right, either.

So he stood there. With his sign. Which was mostly indecipherable.

Glitch was fidgeting with the cuffs on his coat again. Harriet had been kind enough to point out where the teachers would be standing.

Teachers. He was a teacher.

He took a deep breath and silently prayed that no members of the Easter Guild were on this island.

Karal was just a little bit excited about being a big brother. To the point where Altra was rolling his eyes from his spot by Karal's feet.

He had a name tag - with his name on it, obviously - stuck to the front of his robes, and was looking eagerly at each person he saw.

Though he had no idea what someone named Liir would look like.

Might be surprised by Fandom his arse, Bond thought as he took up a spot near the tables where he could watch the rest of the lawn without looking like he was watching. He'd bet the pension he'd probably never see that she'd known full well when she was sending him as well as where.

After nearly a week of allowing himself somewhat of a vacation, Fraser was glad to be back and interested to see how the start of the new semester would go.

He was wandering around, observant as always.

Alex was a boy's name, right? Makoto was mildly hopeful as he smoothed the front of his dress down and looked around for his roommate. A boy would definitely be better than a girl - even if he was currently pretending to be one.

Teyla felt a bit overwhelmed by everything, and very out of place. But Principal Washburn had said she was allowed to attend the picnic, so for the moment, she was simply mimicking everyone else by putting on a nametag and looking around.

Oh god. It was another woman.

On the other hand, it was another sister, and really, body parts didn't really come into siblinghood.

"So that's how you're spelled!" Jeff proclaimed at the girl, waving his sign at her in a vaguely fan-like manner. This was not in fact his intension. "Not that a person can be spelled! I just mean the letters being all in that general... order. Not on your face! No one I know has letters on their face, what would they do, play scrabble all day?"

Teyla stared at him for a moment, unsure of where to begin to respond. "Yes, I...I am Teyla Emmagan. Are you Jeff?" she asked. That would make this at least slightly less awkward, she hoped.
