Fandom Invasions final exam (Monday evening)

The Danger Shop was a bare room with a large cage in the center of it. There was a man that looked remarkably like Seely.

"Good evening," John said to the class once everyone was there. "Welcome to your final exam.

"Last week we talked about the danger within. For your final you're going to get to interact with one of those past dangers. Angel here," John gestured at the man in the cage, "is a former student. He is also a vampire. He has a soul, so generally, all that usually means is you're probably not going to want to share his lunch and he won't be joining you for any picnics on a sunny day. But there are times...."

John pressed a button on the remote and the lighting dimmed, smoke and fire appeared in braziers at the four corners of the cage and a disembodied voice chanted in another language. This seemed to make John pause for a second and he stared. "Damn drama queen," he muttered under his breath.

Aloud he said, "There are times when the soul goes walkabout and what you're left with is the closest thing to pure evil I've encountered outside of pure demon.

"Now evil can wear a pretty face, and use pretty words just as easily as foul ones. But its always going to prey on your weaknesses, make you try and doubt yourself and others, break you down. Your final is to face down evil while trying to not let it get the better of you."

Claire heartily disapproved of this class in the evening situation. She was yawning already as she sat down, and pulled her things out of her bag.

She was clumsy enough while doing so that she grabbed her notebook wrong with fingers already dry and brittle from the cold, and inhaled sharply through teeth when it gave her a papercut.

She flicked the finger quickly, flicking a small amount of blood across her desk, but the cut healed within a second.

Angelus couldn't help but notice that. Scent of blood in the air and all. But he managed to act like it didn't bother him.

So here was the funny thing: the spell was supposed to be fake. That was the only way Angel had finally agreed to go through with all of this. Fake words, fake ingredients, fake desouling.

Here was the other funny thing: magic, much like guns, really needed to always be treated as if it was loaded.

Which was why with much surprise - and not a little delight - Angelus found himself back in the saddle again.

Oh this had good day written all over it.

Now all he had to do was fake his way through the class and get the hell out of there before anybody twigged to what had happened.

This meant pretending to be - gag - Angel who was supposed to be pretending to be him.

Angelus could do that. Hey, if it meant getting lose again he'd even avoid killing for a good hour, hour and a half tops.

One had to have willpower, after all.

Troy? Not nervous when he approached the cage. Not at all. 'Course not. Still, he wasn't unfamiliar with acting, and so he pulled up as much confidence -- real or otherwise -- as he could and nodded at Angel. He said, simply, "Hi."

"Hey, dude." Dick said when he approached the cage. He was going to mention something about only seeing strippers in cages before but he figured that probably wouldn't be smart. Would be funny though.

Jenny looked utterly unimpressed as she approached the cage. Pure evil, ha. She'd been best friends with Hitler. "Squire," she said, lighting a Silk Cut with one fingertip. "How's kicks?"

Valentine walked up to the cage.

Alright then. Cages were... good. Sure. It helped that the maskless expression of the man in said cage was mostly foreign to Valentine.

"And I suppose I'm supposed to be making a conscious effort to not get myself eaten, or some such thing?"

Wyatt had briefly met Angel before, when they went to the Underworld to vanquish the Source and just a few weeks ago at Thanksgiving when they vanquished the food. So he knew Angel was a good guy, but he supposed like Bel he could be easily pushed to evil.

Most of what he knew about vampires came from the Book of Shadows, though he wasn't sure if vampires were different between his world and Angel's. He approached the cage, standing perhaps closer than he should, and said, "Hey. How'd the clean-up go after Thanksgiving? Isabel and I made a break for it when the food started flying."

With much trepidation, Robin approached the cage. Then he remembered he didn't technically have any blood. That calmed him somewhat.

"Er, hi."

Sure Adam had dealt with aliens before. But a vampire was a whole new ball game.

He approached the cage cautiously, keeping a bit of distance between him and Angelus. Granted, there was the cage, but still. Adam wasn't taking any chances. "Hey."

As for me: I'm on Eastern time, I'm going to bed soonish. Work tomorrow but should be able to ping in during the day, and will be around tomorrow night as well.

Please ping me here if you have any questions/need Angelus to back off from tormenting your character. He is pure evil. I'm only semi ;)
