The Danger Shop was a bare room with a large cage in the center of it. There was a man that looked remarkably like Seely.

"Good evening," John said to the class once everyone was there. "Welcome to your final exam.

"Last week we talked about the danger within. For your final you're going to get to interact with one of those past dangers. Angel here," John gestured at the man in the cage, "is a former student. He is also a vampire. He has a soul, so generally, all that usually means is you're probably not going to want to share his lunch and he won't be joining you for any picnics on a sunny day. But there are times...."

John pressed a button on the remote and the lighting dimmed, smoke and fire appeared in braziers at the four corners of the cage and a disembodied voice chanted in another language. This seemed to make John pause for a second and he stared. "Damn drama queen," he muttered under his breath.

Aloud he said, "There are times when the soul goes walkabout and what you're left with is the closest thing to pure evil I've encountered outside of pure demon.

"Now evil can wear a pretty face, and use pretty words just as easily as foul ones. But its always going to prey on your weaknesses, make you try and doubt yourself and others, break you down. Your final is to face down evil while trying to not let it get the better of you."

"Wouldn't hate bumming a smoke," Angelus replied. A vamp had his priorities after all.

"Catch," Jenny said, tossing a cigarette toward him, because she was not in fact stupid enough to get within arm's length.

More was the pity, but he'd take what he could get. "Lighter?"

"Settle for a light?" Jenny asked, using a spark to ignite the tip of Angelus' cigarette.

"Wow, flashback," Angelus said as he took a puff off the newly lit cigarette. He studied Jenny. "Don't smell like a demon."

"That would be because I'm not," Jenny told him. If anything, she probably smelled like electricity, like hot wires and the air after a storm. "Hear you are, though. S'funny, my ex-husband could have passed for one, but I've never met an actual demon before. What do actual demons do?"

"Depends on the demon," Angelus said. He flicked his ashes to the ground. "I'm a vampire, so I'm more into the torture and torment and eventual killing. Also ballet's nice. So the ex: literal or metaphorical?"

"Sure, but I've known loads of humans that did all that," Jenny said. "Except for ballet, ew, although I do like the tights. Oh, he's a literal. Much to my chagrin."

"Happens to the best of us," Angelus said. "And I would never say that humans can't be as freakish and sadistic as I can. Just goes to show having a soul ain't that big a deal."

"Couldn't agree more," Jenny said easily. "I really don't see what the big deal is, here. I've met greater evil in my sock drawer. By some people's definition, I am greater evil."

"What's your kink, sweetheart?" Angelus asked.

"That would be telling."

"Girl of mystery," Angelus said. "I can appreciate that."

"Not too much, squire, seein' as you're in there and I'm out there, and that's the way it's gotta stay." Jenny ground out her cigarette under the toe of her shoe. "Tough luck."

"Appreciate the sympathy," he said. "It gives me a warm glow inside."

"Aw." Jenny ran her index finger down her cheek. "Tear."

"Bitchy," Angelus said. "I like it."

"I'd say I'm glad you approve, but I don't think you're supposed to be happy about pure evil liking you," Jenny said.

"Good boys and girls generally don't."

"Well, I'm not one of those." Jenny shrugged and lit another cigarette. "Mostly, I just don't care." Angelus was small-scale evil. She'd worry about him when he decided to try destroying the world.

"Mind tossing me one more for the road?" Angelus asked, indicating the cigarettes.

"Sure," Jenny said, tossing another cigarette to him. She didn't light this one. Being mean to the evil was almost the same as being good, right? "I'd say I'll see you around, but I rather hope I won't."

Angelus caught it. He could light it off the remainder of the first one. "Understandable. Thanks, kitten."

Jenny didn't actually remove his head, as would have been her usual reaction to being called 'kitten,' because A) there was a cage between them and B) he was just acting, after all. Instead, she tossed, "Any time, sweet pea," over her shoulder.
