The Danger Shop was a bare room with a large cage in the center of it. There was a man that looked remarkably like Seely.

"Good evening," John said to the class once everyone was there. "Welcome to your final exam.

"Last week we talked about the danger within. For your final you're going to get to interact with one of those past dangers. Angel here," John gestured at the man in the cage, "is a former student. He is also a vampire. He has a soul, so generally, all that usually means is you're probably not going to want to share his lunch and he won't be joining you for any picnics on a sunny day. But there are times...."

John pressed a button on the remote and the lighting dimmed, smoke and fire appeared in braziers at the four corners of the cage and a disembodied voice chanted in another language. This seemed to make John pause for a second and he stared. "Damn drama queen," he muttered under his breath.

Aloud he said, "There are times when the soul goes walkabout and what you're left with is the closest thing to pure evil I've encountered outside of pure demon.

"Now evil can wear a pretty face, and use pretty words just as easily as foul ones. But its always going to prey on your weaknesses, make you try and doubt yourself and others, break you down. Your final is to face down evil while trying to not let it get the better of you."

"Is the homoeroticism intentional or does Logan just have that effect on people?" Angelus asked. "'cause I always said soul boy never needed help turning folks into pussies..."

"Have you met Duncan?" Dick asked. "Cause he's way gayer than I am."

"Only by rumor," Angelus admitted. "The word 'wood' came up a lot as well."

"That sounds about right." he said, nodding. "And he's all emo and broody. I mean, I know his sister was murdered but, jeez, lighten up. It was like two years ago."

"Plus it's not like he did it," Angelus said, adding, "The wimp."

"What, did you kill your sister or something?" he asked.

"I killed my sister," Angelus confirmed. "And something."

"What do people taste like?" Dick asked. "Like pennies? Cause blood tastes like pennies."

"Much better than that," Angelus assured him, while wondering if maybe it was something they put in the water in Neptune. "'course it depends on how you kill 'em. Pleasure doesn't taste like fear. Apples and oranges kind of a thing. You know how it is."

"You know what I'd do if I were a vampire? I'd find a hot chick, have sex with her and then eat her." he said. "Cause then I'd get a two for one thing going on. I bet that would taste good."

Funny how easily Dick could forget that he was talking to a murderer. As long as there was a cage between them he didn't much care how many people Angelus had killed.

"It's not bad," Angelus said. "You could also do it at the same time. Adds a rush."

"Cooool!" he said, smiling. "And then you wouldn't have to worry about the pesky pleasuring her thing. Cause she'd be dead."

Dick didn't need to be soulless to be a total asshole.

"Exactly!" Angelus said. "Removes that pesky desire they have to talk after too."

"That would be awesome." he said with a mock wistful glance on his face. "Take everything you want and then not give anything back in return."

"Kind of an unlife philosophy for me."

"It's a good one to have." he said, nodding. "I'm kinda jealous now."

"I almost regret that I didn't think to bring a brochure," Angelus said. "We are always recruiting."

Not that he'd do it himself of course. Standards.

"Thanks but no thanks. Veronica's already looking for an excuse to kill me." he said. "I really don't need to be making it easier on her."

Another look of distaste. "I'll have to see if I can find a way to say hi to Ronnie when I can."
