Arts & Crafts 2, Tuesday Afternoon, Main Campfire

"Good afternoon," Steve said. "Today we're going to make dream catchers, as I have been told they are traditional at summer camp. The instruction sheets and supplies should be on your tables. If you need any help, just let me or my TA--" Steve nodded at Teddy--"know. Also, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves so no one's working next to a total stranger. I'll start. Like I said last week, my name is Steve Rogers. I'm eighty-nine years old--yes, really--and I'm from New York City. I used to be in the army, but before that I went to art school." Steve pointed to a student at random. "You're next."

Setsuna remembered making these last year; she was also thinking how she'd made hers to help John with his nightmares. She never ended up giving it to him, but it did make her wonder if they might help with Ami-chan's, too...

Liz quietly began making her Dream Catcher.

Naminé looked over at her roommate-to-be with a tentative smile. "How did you do that? With the flames, I mean. Are you a witch?" She didn't seem nervous about the question itself. Naminé had known a few witches in her time.

Liz shook her head, "I'm not a witch," she said quietly, "I've been able to create fire for a while now but I don't know why I can do it,"

Savannah smiled at Liz as she started sorting out different beads of blues and greens. "That's pretty cool, your fire thing, I mean."

Liz gave a small smile, "you think so?" she said softly.

Johnny approached her carefully, "Hey there, so I noticed what you can do, of course, with fire."

Liz gave a small smile, "it's something I've been able to do for a while,"

Carmela gathered up some shiny looking beads and particularly fluffy feathers and then set to work making her dream catcher.

"You've been to the moon?" Charlie asked her roommate, as soon as they started making the dreamcatchers. She passed some shiny blue beads through her fingers. "When?"

"About a year ago, now," Carmela says. "My brother's a wizard, and he and his friends were up there doing some big... Universe-saving thing. I was just there because there's no way I was gonna let my brother do something that dangerous without me there to watch his back."

Michelangelo was quite possibly rooting systematically through all of the beads, trying to pick out the green and orange ones.

"Are you making one that will match yourself?" Naminé asked with a light smile.

"Oh, hey there, Nami!" Mikey grinned up at her and shrugged. "I like orange, and I like green. They're totally mondo awesome colors, you know? So I just kinda pick them first no matter what I'm doing. It's, like, habit or something." He bounced a little in place. "What colors are you gonna use, Nami?"

Naminé began sorting out beads of pale blues, whites, and greys, stringing them together, lost a little in thought.

"Hey, Naminé," Charlie said, putting together her set of blue-and-green stones and red feathers. "That looks like it's going to be pretty."

Will started sorting out beads into five small piles of purple, red, blue, green, and yellow, and beading them into repeating patterns of five.

Ami wondered if these would help with her nightmares.

Seely picked up a handful of yellow and black feathers.

Yes, he was making his dream catcher in Steeler's colours, stop looking at him like that.

Johnny picked out everything blue. What? It was his favorite color. Blue feathers, blue beads, just...blue.

Concentrating, he started to glue the suede around the ring. If his project turned out good enough (or even if it didn't) he was totally going to send it to Sue. She needed to see just exactly what he got to do with his time over here. He was sure she'd be so jealous.

Savannah smiled at him as she put hers together.

"You sure bring new definition to the term, hot, Johnny."

Vi knew how to knit -- it helped keep a girl in colorful beanies -- so the dreamcatcher was kind of easy. She wound the wool around the sticks neatly.

Alec picked out clear beads and blue beads and some green beads to go with his dreamcatcher.

This was simple. Eyeing the supplies and the diagram. Haku made very short work of the weave, finding it very similar to making baskets that his mother taught him as a child.

He was almost done by the time everyone had finished introducing themselves. Ninja speed was good for that.
