Arts & Crafts 2, Tuesday Afternoon, Main Campfire

"Good afternoon," Steve said. "Today we're going to make dream catchers, as I have been told they are traditional at summer camp. The instruction sheets and supplies should be on your tables. If you need any help, just let me or my TA--" Steve nodded at Teddy--"know. Also, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves so no one's working next to a total stranger. I'll start. Like I said last week, my name is Steve Rogers. I'm eighty-nine years old--yes, really--and I'm from New York City. I used to be in the army, but before that I went to art school." Steve pointed to a student at random. "You're next."

"I think I was born with my powers," Liz said quietly, "they first started appearing when I was 7,"

"I was just wondering, what all you can do, how far you can go?"

"I can mostly create flames in my hands," Liz said, she hesitated slightly before she went on, "I have also done what my guardian called a nova effect. I've only done that twice but it was because I lost control of my powers,"

"Nova?" Johnny was very familiar with nova heat and he was more than shocked to hear that Liz could do it. He thought he was the only one. Of course he went Supernova so was under the impression it might be hotter.

"So you can't control nova heat at whim?"

"No," Liz shook her head, "the two times that I've done that were in situations that were beyond my control,"

He nodded, "There might be a time where those situations are completely under your control. Are you working at it? Nova heat is very dangerous, Liz."

"I've been going through some meditation exercises to help control it," Liz said softly, "I've seen how dangerous my powers can be, I don't want another incident."

He smiled, "I'm glad to hear that." Johnny wouldn't ask about the incident unless she offered to tell him. He thought that was imposing just a little too much. "I can do it, you know, whenever I want."

"How long after you been able to do it?" she asked.

"Not very long at all, Liz," he said. "It was an accident, really, and afterwards well, I found out I can control flame, actually become a human torch." Johnny didn't want to brag, so he left off a few more of his abilities. Liz seemed nice and quiet and there was no sense throwing at her everything he can do when she was still learning to control what she can do.

"I didn't know there was anyone else out there that had the ability. Kind of nice to meet someone who does."

Liz smiled, "I didn't know there was anyone else like me until I came to Fandom High," she said, "it's not very common to have powers where I'm from,"

"No, no, I can understand that. It's not common from where I am from either. But," he grinned, "I'm sort of a Superhero." Yes, he would not be Johnny Storm if he did not brag just a little.
